The gathermate data info is usually just good for a single import the first time you pickup a profession that uses a given gathering skill. It gives you a good idea of where to find things and you add to those locations as you continue to farm more, then create your own routs or favorite spots as you go too

Ty for the heads up on the bulletin board. Addons I love; for mages "Portal Mage" It is a Portal interface, right click teleport, left click portal. You can adjust the size so it can be clean, and displays rune stones quantities. Beyond excellent in Classic, but still nice not having to judge portals destinations on a pop out imo. Addon "GTFO" a must for anyone with distractions in life (everyone), it beeps and tells you you're in bad stuff, also great because graphics and damage aoe sizes dont always line up.... Addon "Mini Map Button Button" this is a consolidation point for addons off your mini map, it is moveable, check it out you may like it more. Addon "Button Forge" This allows you to make more rows of buttons, you can even Key them. My Brotherinlaw screen shared this gem, I was Like WOAH! WTF is that! I don't use a interface addon, I don't want to reset it if it goes down. Its amazing, Really loved it on my pally, put my buffs on a separate bar so I could rebuff newbs that died, and came back during combat(PP is a pain.)

For those that don't know. You can still log into Wraith classic right now to configure all your addons beforehand. Keep in mind. 90% of your addons will probably break until updated though. I would only have like a handful of addons you know you'll want. Basically just a quest addon, ui addon, and probably handynotes. That's all you really need for launch.

I would had some QoL addons such as WIM to never miss a single /w message, Skillet classic for more efficient craft working, Altoholic to manage all your alts, ItemRack to manage your stuff more easily, Opie to hide « sticky » buttons from main UI, Big Input Box, unrecognized but very clever tool for chatting and the incredible Narcissus to finally get a beautiful character’s page worthy of this game. Reforgelite is the single best Cata addon. Optimizes your reforges for you so you don't have to manually reforge stuff to only get to hit cap and no more.

Started using Carbonite back at wotlk original expansion and never looked back. The map interaction with quest guiding, the extra zoom-in on map for all the details etc. Freaking love this addon

Reforgelite classic it another good as we now can reforge are gear and it comes with a simple class/spec window that allow quick simple reforging the stats u need as well as hit/exp capping you saving u the hassle of doing it your self.

I do not see Pawn as useful for new players as it doesn't learn itemization and it provides no feedback why the item would be a upgrade. In your video it says 44% upgrade to Arms. 44% of what exactly? 44% more stam or weapon dmg, maximum dmg or? In my opinion, it' s an absolute terrible addon as it provides no useful information but blindly trusting some percentage number with no indication of what it actually improves. The rest of the addons are good though :)
