recommend getting a MT-07. it's the nr1 most popular beginner bike and here you have to use your own bike to take your riders license. you also have to do a obstacle course while going crawl speed using the clutch and balancing before you are even allowed out for the street riding test so you know the MT is a good beginner bike that you can comfortably handle and grow in to :). most naked bikes in the 500-700cc range are good beginner bikes. just stay away from the high revving 10k+ ones because they are just annoying for a beginner to ride. other good bikes are the kawasaki Er-6N which is the nr1 most popular beginner bike on a budget. like 90% of the er6n that are for sale here come from people who used it as their first bike and used it for the driving test.

Really enjoying the motorcycle content there ! I'd like to give an advice to new riders : don't overthink your first bike's choice, you're not going to keep it very long, and your inexperience makes you unable to notice many of the flaws people report with some models anyways, so just go ahead and just get whatever you want IN THE BEGINNER BIKE CATERGORY, please don't go kill yourself on a 100+ hp bike because you think you can handle it : you can't.
@BladedAngel
@BladedAngel Жыл бұрын
yeah, I'm glad you use a HP clarification cuz when most ppl use CC It confuses most beginners. Since some 600s are slow, some are VERY FAST so I just say "Around 50HP area" is great starter. 100HP bikes start to get in 3-3.9 sec 0-60 already, wayyyy too much for most beginners.
@Veldrade
@Veldrade Жыл бұрын
@@BladedAngel Agreed, 100 is already way too much for a beginner, I just had to come up with a number without sounding like a stuck up "experienced" rider. Around 50 hp is neat but I think going up to 70 is fine, since that's where most beginner friendly parallel twin 600cc bikes are at. I live in Europe and honestly I would probably have ended up in multiple high speed accidents when I started, weren't it for the existence of the restrictive licence for new riders. And yeah people tend to get confused with CC, so I try to always speak in terms of HP to avoid any catastrophic confusion

I know it just came out, but the Kawasaki zx4rr looks insane! It has upgraded suspension, upgraded body positioning, and they upgraded it to an inline four, you get the high end power and that 600cc superbrike sound, but it's way more manageable. It's lightweight and flickable, and I think you can get them for around 10-11k after taxes/dealer fees.

Had a 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S in green from 2015 - 2022. Absolutely loved it. Thing is fast and a joy to ride. Unfortunately I had to sell it because my apartment doesn't allow motorcycles. My options were to keep it at my parents' (who live 8 hours away) and I ride it once or twice a year when I visit during riding season (they live in the north, so not a very long season), rent a storage unit which I'd then have to drive to if I wanted to ride it, or sell it and put those funds towards the new car I was getting soon. Unfortunately it was best to sell it. Got $6,200 when I paid $7,500. Not bad for a 7 year old vehicle.

Im planning on getting a bmw 310r for my first bike, i tried sitting on it a couple days ago and i definitely feel confident on it. Its light, low to the ground, and looks cool and just feels nice. It has abs and tcs as well so its quite beginner friendly. (The guy at the bike shop also reccomended a triumph 600cc because it has a "rain mode" that changes throttle mapping and cranks up abs/tcs, but i was less confident sitting on it and it was slightly heavier, so) also the triumph was like... 8 thousand dollars vs the 310r being around 5,500 lol. I also want a cbr300, that was my first choice, but the cbr would have been bought online vs in person and i would've had to pay shipping

Thank you Bladed! Your vidoes made me appreciate the motorcyle life and I'm starting to work on getting my motorcycle license soon. For starter bikes: 1) Should I only buy a used bike like I've heard tossed around? 2) Are 600 - 650cc bikes ok for a beginner (I'm 28 if that matters)? I've heard alot of people say you'll get bored of your 300cc within a year so getting a 650 like the Yamaha MT07 was a better call.

I'm going into the Army in a few days and when i get done with AIT I'm planning on grtting a Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS KRT Edition. I'll need to save up for it a little bit but it'll be worth it. I've got experience with the shifting and balance. Only thing I'm not used to is the clutch since the only clutch "toy" I've used was a 450CC ATV at the dunes that would'nt shift into 1st gear so I had to start in 2nd everytime.

Super cub was what I decided was the best option for me and I have not been disappointed, so thank you for letting me know about this piece of motorcycle equipment. Quick question as someone who’s looking to get into motorcycles, what would you recommend in terms of gear and security/safety? I’m thinking about a Scram 411 but considering that I live in Canada and 400 series highways are quite common, I want to know what’s safe for things like highways while still being relatively affordable and dependable, and you seem like a good person to ask since you also have a lot of experience with similar American highways.

That question is really vague - Do you mean safety gear jn terns of clothing? Security in terms of locking up your bike for the night? In terms of motorways, as long as it can go the speed limit (+ a little bit so youre not redlining the whole time) then youre fine.

I got a brand-new '22 Honda CB300R as my first ever motorcycle, in the blue and gold; I love the thing, it's peppy and handles incredibly well. It also looks amazing in that color combo. Gets closer to 65-70mpg and doesn't like going over 85mph. Unfortunately, it's starting to cough only 8 months after I got it, but fortunately the work is under warranty... hopefully just a one-time problem, waiting to hear back from the garage to see what's up with it (the original dealer I bought it from has a shoddy reputation locally, so maybe they did something stupid... they also scratched the exhaust, which they replaced). I do a lot of highway miles since it's my commuter, so I'm often running it up pretty high in the RPMs. Amazing between 20-60mph, and pops and burbles upon deceleration. Also only 317lbs, which is great for a beginner/woman rider :)

You've talked about a lot of car mods and car enthusiast habits. What are the bike equivalents? Common motorcycle mods, moto-enthusiast habits, good and bad parts of the community, non-motorcycle rider misconceptions

Honda shadow 600 and 750, super cheep. reliable, lots of aftermarket support and large community. Perfect first bike if you want to mod your bike and you are looking for cruiser.

Coming from Europe I'd personally only recommend a maximum displacement of 125cc for a beginner motorcycle because they tend to be lighter, slower and cheaper to both buy and maintain

I want to get my license and a bike, but my parents are strongly opposed, so i will when i move out. This hopefully will help with my first inevitable purchase though

To be honest you can also but the the ninja/z 650 and mt-7 also in to the beginner section. Easy to handle, good suspension and much fun to drive

Best sounding motorcycles?? I wanna get my first bike but I honestly want to be able to make it sound super cool but I’m new to the engines (for example a good sounding first car would be a 2004 gt mustang for comparison)
