I knew it was Ardbeg as soon I saw the colour and your descriptions. Of course it helped that I knew LVMH owns Ardbeg! 😊 And yes, Diageo has a stake in Ardbeg as well.

I'm surprised you guys couldn't pick Ardbeg! I always thought it had perhaps the most distinctive profile of the Islays.

@@preachey I sometimes get it mixed with Laphroiag 10, but in this case I think we were led astray a little by the clues. If we'd just trusted our noses more we probably could have got it eventually. Still on boarding this new format for the show somewhat.

@TheSingleMaltReview I did think that last year too - I can see you getting sucked in by the clues rather than assessing the whisky completely in isolation then applying the clues afterwards. It's a tough game! I do trust that under normal circumstances you'd be able to blind pick an Ardbeg 😄

It's a tough mission but Dave and Tim are onto it... soon enough, I'm sure.😇
