Andrew McCutchen is going to the HOF on numbers alone. Remarkably he is one of just 12 players in MLB history with at least 2000 hits, 1100 runs, 1000 walks, 1000 RBI, 300 homers, 400 doubles, and 200 stolen bases. Seven of those other players are in Cooperstown.

Great job on this Mike - I agree on pretty much every player except Stanton. At 44 WAR and at 35 years old next season, I just don’t him adding enough from here on. He’s only exceeded 1.0 WAR in one season since 2018. My guess is he falls below 50 WAR and just shy of 500 HR.

I agree on 24 of 25. I just don’t see Degrom getting in. He would need to have an unprecedented run of health in his late 30’s. A guy I’m big on who I don’t think will get in is McCutchen. 2K+ Hits, 1K+ RBI/Runs/Walks, 200+ SB, 300+ HR, very underrated.

One guy I have my eye on is Yordan Alvarez. I know he is just a DH, but 30+ home runs year after year (without ever having played 150 games). Currently a .973 OPS. And you can get his rookies for CHEAP. I actually just bought a Finest Refractor rookie of his for under $5.

I'd put Freddy Freeman in the top category. His numbers are right there with Betts and Harper, if not better. Zach Grienke is a pitcher who I think has a great chance, especially over DeGrom, but I guess he has already retired, like Votto too.

I put a $1 Future HoF’ers box together for last show. I had included non-rookie cards of ALL those but Kimbrel, Guerrero, Olson, Seager, DeGrom - just hadn’t looked closely at Kimbrel recently. I think you nailed this list, Mike. Cole and DeGrom are hard for me to think of as HOFers, though. When we think about the benchmarks that we grew up with for pitchers to get in. Those two won't hit any of them. They have put up incredible numbers, but it just goes to show you how devalued starting pitchers have become. I do agree with you, though, that they have a pretty good shot at getting in. It's just where the game is right now, I guess. Rant complete. Awesome video, Mike.

I think that most of these are reasonable. I don't necessarily agree with 100% (looking at you Jacob DeGrom)- but it's still possible. Surprisingly, the one I take the most issue with (as a Braves fan) is Matt Olson. He is on a potential pace for 500 HR- but that's his only way. He's under pace for 2,500 H, 1,500 R, 1,500 RBI, and isn't the most decorated player (2 GG, 1 SS, 2x AS). and by your metric, of the eye test- I watch him play a LOT being on my team. He's not someone I look at and see HOFer (which is not how I evaluate HOF-worthiness, just saying). He's not even a top 3 guy on the Braves that I want in the box with the game on the line. It's not impossible, but he wouldn't be in my top 50 of guys playing now that could be HOFers- much less 25. But that's what makes these types of discussions fun! The baseball HOF discussion is EASILY the most interesting, entertaining, and captivating across all of sports.
