Regardless of the over hyped expected performance of Vega by AMD fanboys, no one can deny that AMD is losing a lot of business to Nvidia. People that are buying the 1080's at reduced price, and 1080ti's, aren't going to be buying Vega at all. Realistically, Vega will be at best, 10 TFLOPS, and 8GB of HBM2, which will bandwidth wise, not be much faster than GDDR5X. Maybe Vega will come in a little cheaper, but it'll also likely come in hotter, and just overall not as good. And when you look at it, even at 10 TFLOPS, even at a lower price, you have to consider that 1080 owners have had that level of performance for nearly a year now....plus however longer it takes for Vega to arrive. So when you go buy a Vega that matches a 1080 for $400 or so, and think you're hot shit.....just remember, 1080 owners have enjoyed that performance for a long time already, and their cards will at least have as much longevity left in them as Vega. I've got a gsync monitor......1080TI all the way.

I made the same decision this week. Go 144Hz 1440p. There's much better 4K monitors coming that feature higher refresh rate, HDR, and will be $200 cheaper than current models. Buying a 4k monitor now is a stupid move. I personally would rather a 4K TV if I decide to jump to 4K. 4K monitors just aren't practical. 1440p monitors however seem to be the most popular and are the perfect sweet spot for awesome performance AND visuals.

#1: Toled is not a word you dipshit #2: 1080ti appears to be handling a MAJORITY of games above 30fps and even 60fps at close to the highest possible settings. That is amazing considering it's only $700. This is absolutely the beginning of true 4K 60fps gaming. #3: Buying a 4k monitor is stupid anyway... no 4k monitor offers higher than 60Hz, so buying a 1440p monitor is probably better, and according to this, 1080ti will rock games at 1440p.

so its about a fifth to one quarter better on fps than the 1080 card on average id say . my fave 1080,s are for the cash and delivered to where i live . Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme 8 GB GDDR5X Graphics Card (ZT-P10800B-10P) ASUS STRIX-GTX1080-08G Gaminig Graphics Card with NVIDIA GTX1080 1759 MHz 8 Go and PCI Express just great cards i enjoyed using both of them and cannot wait until i get a 1080TI watercooled. oh yeah.

Can anyone give me advice. I have a 1080p monitor and am not really planning an upgrade to 4K til beginning of 2018. I currently have an RX 480 RS 4GB and its a really nice card, I paired it with an i5 4690k over clocked to 4.4ghz and its a nice setup, though for the beginning of 2018/end of 2017 I want to start upgrading, which is a better choice, buy a Ryzen 5 1600x for £300 including motherboard, or buy a gtx 1070 8gb for £370? is the 1070 really gonna be that much better over the RX 480? sounds stupid but in dx12 vulkan on doom, the RX 480 averaged 117fps while the 1070 averaged 127fps... that's 10 fps more for £370 which isn't worth it that what I need to know

No 1080p benchmarks? 4k is only for SLI set ups/reserved for old games, such as games that came out between 2008-2014 and even then, performance can suffer/ at times with two 1080s in SLI at 1080p playing GTA V frame rate drops down to the 30s, to enjoy 4K gaming you need at the bare minimum two 1080 TIs in SLI or more preferably 2 titan XPs in SLI. these SLI setups will at least get you 60FPS and above, not a good long term investment, but it will get the job done for at least a year, ideally you want a single card that can run any game at 120FPS and above, at what ever resolution you want to game at, maxed out, 4k would be nice, but currently their are no single cards that can produce 60FPS and above at 4k, with a single card, but ideally you want to find a card that can run any game at 120FPS and above and SLI that card, I'm still gonna cap my frame rate at 60FPS, but at least I know my investment will last maybe even 5years before it needs to be upgraded.

2:13 taa and temporal filtering lowers resolution and enhances fps, wouldve been more interesting to see what performance you get with msaa or txaa without post aa since this wouldve improved image quality and made it more challanging to run at high fps.

so basically just keep the Titan XP, it has 1 more gigabyte of Ram and the GTX 1080 TI is not much of an improvement. oh and the GTX 1080 TI sold out at the speed light of light, so buy a Titan X or Prepare to fight. so pretty much fuck buying a GTX 1080 TI that will sell out very quickly again, so buy a TITAN X, it's better than the GTX 1080, and slightly just a very VERY IMPOSSIBLE TO NOTICE worse than the 1080TI, though a GTX 1080 is just fine too.

Hey man, I am wondering why you're using anti-aliasing at 4k resolution? It's a major hit to performance and makes some of the benchmarks look a lot lower than they should be, especially for the 1080. I have sli 1080's and my results are much better than these.
