I have an country idea. "Peoples Republic of independent Wales" (Capitol Cardiff). After the British economy crashes and poverty and unemployment is at an all time high. The Welsh assembly government vote independence and make them selves a independent nation from the UK . But because Wales still has the problems from that the UK left them people start to rebel against the new Welsh parliament. After winning the revolution the country is declared communist and is much more stronger as a tiny nation. After the country is finally full communist and the people adapt to the new system England tries to invade Wales and the USA helps them. Wales manages to defend most of Wales with help from France, Ireland, China and Vietnam. America makes a peace treaty with Wales but England keeps fighting. All of the allies of Wales pull out and Wales gets control over Cornwall and Bristol.

what if england was not the dominant country on the british isles and scotland was but this takes place after william wallace conquers the whole of england, wales and ireland then the scottish rule continues on to modern day britain but the british empire will still take place but the scottish empire is more ruthless towards its european neighbours and having may disputes with both france and spain (much like the original british empire) and eventually conquers france and spain claim more land for the empire (but note the scottish has the same empire as the brititsh empire but they win the revolutionary war) but expands after taking over france and spain resulting in the empire growing in strength as a result becomes the first superpower in the world and when the 1st world war happens the scottish empire plays a key role in the war by immediately confronting germany and ending the war much sooner and keeps its grand empire as the treaty of Versailles never happened as a result the scottish empire splits germany in half with soviet russia and ww2 never happens but there is a lot of tension between russia and scotland but war never breaks out but like in our timeline the soviet union falls but then there are problems at home when ireland tries to fight the empire with terrorist tactics eventually southern ireland is the first country to break free then america soon follows but wit peaceful protests when america gains independence they seek to be allies with scotland then the world lives happily ever after

Yes, the California Republic was actually an EXTREMELY short lived country that lasted from June to July in 1846. California became independent from Mexico kind of similar to what happened to Texas. The Bear Flag Revolt and whatever remained of the "California Republic" ceased to exist in July when California became a U.S. state.

Soviet-Balkan Union Capital: Moscow Scenario: After the annexation of Romania, the USSR settled up satelite states in all of the Balkans, including the People's Republic of Greece. This would lead to high tensions between the UK and the USSR, leading the Brits raiding some military bases in Yugoslavia and destroying a tower. In response, the USSR launches a full-scale invasion of the Balkans to protect it. They first start with Bulgaria, then Greece to launch air raids on Yugoslavia. Afterwards, Albania is easily captured with minimal casualties for the Soviets. Then, the USSR invades all of Yugoslavia and is succesful. The Treaty of Belgrade takes place, stating that the USSR must annex all of the Balkans.

Not so insane in theory, I remember reading that the Tsars had similar ambitions in the 19th century, at least until the Crimean War. Imagine Russia conquering Istanbul and Greece and proclaiming the restoration of the Roman Empire (with Orthodox Christianity being a key part of it). As for your scenario, my only criticism is the name, Soviet, unless it's meant as just a description. The USSR would probably just keep the same name unless it became more nationalist and went for a more Slavic focus (which wouldn't fit with Greece, but would with most of the others).

I have another few ideas for nations. The first is: Country: The United Kingdom Capital: London Scenario: After World War 1, Britain undergoes a roaring 20s style economic boom, but are able to retain all the money without a great depression occurring. They use the money to make improvements in all their colonies worldwide. The empire still falls after World War 2, but the UK still remains extremely rich and aids the countries breaking off from the empire in their transition to becoming independent states (because Britain is far nicer in this timeline :D)

The second nation: Country: Democratic Republic of Burundi Capital: Bujumbura Scenario: Burundi leads a rebellion against Belgian colonialists and unites with Rwanda and former Zaire to form the Democratic Republic of Burundi. It precedes to become a dominant power in central Africa and has influence over many political decisions in the region over the Cold War, and is heavily respected for it's wide array of wildlife, culture and natural resources

The third nation: Country: The Unified Republic of Timor Capital: Dili Scenario: East Timor breaks off from Indonesia during the Cold War and forms a new democracy. Indonesia allows the nation to have full ownership of the island of Timor and the country quickly develops due to American funding (because it's not communist!) It aids America through trade export in exchange for money and weapons.

The fourth nation: Country: The Kingdom of Kyrgyz-Tajikistan Capitals: Bishkek and Dushanbe Scenario: Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan separate from the USSR during the Cold War and unite into a single nation with the seat of government in both countries' capitals: Bishkek and Dushanbe. The nation introduces two kings to represent both nations and it adopts a capitalist system of government. The US swiftly start to fund the new nation and train spies to steal Soviet ideas and information about nuclear weapons. Over time Kyrgyz-Tajikistan prospers into a strong nation with high amounts of wealth. The two kings are seen as kindly world figureheads, especially by the West and other monarchies across the world like that of the UK

United Republic of Ireland Capital : Dublin Eamonn De Valera, an American leader of the IRA is executed (in our timeline he wasn't and went on to be an Irish president) and America declares war on England, destroying it. In a pact with Ireland, Ireland gains the British Isles and Australia, and America gains Canada and the rest of the Commonwealth. Ireland becomes a near world superpower, similar to Japan's international status today, and the US's status is elevated further, to the point where any country declaring war on them is crushed within a very short period. The URI and the USA become extremely close allies, sharing resources and sometimes parts of conquered territories, such as Germany, Italy, Japan and China in an alternate WWII.
