Now we know why this world is so fucked up. There are people starving all over the world, yet some individuals have the luxury of being able to spend millions of dollars on gold t.vs and any of these other less than necessary items, and actually choose to do so.

Many of these rich ppl pay billions in taxes and billions in charity and helped create many jobs and in the mean while helping the country's economy. I personality think some of these are a little absurd to cost so much but when you got that kind of money you have a completely different mind set
@Assassin73311
@Assassin73311 10 жыл бұрын
Rich Handsome I wrote quite a lengthy response, but of course KZbin cleared it because Google employees suck ass at coding. Basically the just of my response was; Rich people do pay a lot in taxes, but they have private banks where they store their money and receive an exponentially greater interest rate than you, or I. This greater interest rate, more than likely covers their tax costs. Rich people do help charities a lot, but the rich people that do, are far and few. One example of such a cause is; The Giving Pledge. Many rich people did help to create jobs, such as Bill Gates with Microsoft. However, again, they are far and few. Most rich people are the CEO's, or people that were born into money and haven't created any jobs. I agree with you that these items are absurdly priced. But who in their right mind, would need a gold / diamond encrusted t.v? It's just a luxury that is not needed, rich or poor. I can understand the rich having a few greater luxuries, but diamond encrusted things that make no difference is preposterous.

TheKoekiemonster1234 Wow, you know me in real life? Amazing. Also, if "slim to nothing" means six figures per year, than yes, I am making slim to nothing. As for the charity work, I donate supplies to the fire department year-round, as well as to various charities such as; Salvation Army, Red Cross, Block Parents (Not exactly a charity, but requires donations), etc. So, I highly suggest that before you assume and make an ass out of yourself, to take some facts down, or simply not to type your asinine comments over the internet. Thank you.

Zolipsist You are the epitome of a citizen who watches way too much television and as a result they're ideology is not they're own. If a person has the ability to do good and change the world for the better then it is they're duty to do so. If you truly understood the horrific atrocities and suffering going on in the world today then you would realize this but like most Americans your understanding of the world is based off of mainstream television. Any truly intelligent and informed person will know of what is really going on in the world. 1% of the worlds population owns nearly 50% of the world's wealth. If the people who owned the majority of the wealth were to contribute to helping the suffering, the world would instantly change, instead, they do the opposite. If you do not understand this then I pity you. We have the ability to make living conditions good for everyone in the world and to put an end to suffering but we do not do it because of personal greed and want. I not only pity you but i despise you for your ignorance and lack of morality but I try not to feel like that because I know that people like you are exactly that.. Ignorant. You truly have no idea of the suffering going on in the world because you do not see it and you do not attempt to see it. All you know is what the television shows you and most networks do not show it. So many people in other countries suffer so that we can live the good life and that is the nasty truth. You can come to terms with that or you can bury your head in your ass like so many others.

The painting and photo should be burned. "Art" like that should be destroyed as a lesson not to turn art into a lazy overpriced statues symbol for the uncaring rich. And these jewelery pieces and that yacht should be striped down and it's gold be used for something actually useful. For a long time, gold has stop being a useless metal only worth it's price for it's rarity and beauty, it is not a vital part of electronics and have many applicable uses. The only thing worse then overpriced statue symbols are overpriced statues symbols that could be used to help people but only exist to stroke a rich person's ego.

***** You're an idiot. Poverty doesn't work like that. The world doesn't work like that. If you are in poverty, you stay in poverty, there is no leaving that class. A minimal wage job will not elevate you out of that. Next time you wish to say something, look up what you are about to say first. It may prevent you from saying something stupid.
@lonercs

weihoozie I seen copies of that paint, it's not priceless. It actually rather worthless. The only reason why it has that price tag is so that the obscenely rich can brag to other about how much money they have. The private collector spent over a billion dollars on paint splatters instead of using said money in a way that would help people that desperately needs it. Just like how buying the painting is a message, destroying it would be a message too. It's a message, the destruction of a symbol of classism, of superiority.
@weihoozie
@weihoozie 10 жыл бұрын
The reason it is expensive is because paintings like those are made by important figures in art and culture all throughout the ages. Their price is correlated to cultural importance and rarity. A lot of art in auctions are bought by museums as well, and in a way it helps civilization by educating people in culture and history. There are different kinds of help that just doesn't involve giving money to less fortunate people.

I'm sorry, but it is hard to believe that someone would invest in a yacht that has a 100 tons of gold onboard... It is more gold than what many country's treasury stores... Imagine if it sinks... That could give you a heart attack, for sure... You'd be better off sinking with it...

I have money but I live modestly, things like the cheeseburger I would do once with my fiance who is a navy seal, he has a stressful job so even though I could get one many times just once I would want to try one. Cuz that is a memory that will last u a lifetime where u could say once and only once u had a $250 burger just to try it out. The other things on this list r ridiculous. ( except the dodge tomahawk cuz be honest people who doesn't wanna sit on a viper engine and feel the power ) but still everyone should save money and think about the one thing they rlly wanna do or try. Live life to the fullest and treat itself. Also like I said dont snap at me for this one cuz I'm not saying buy a 5 billion dollar yacht I'm saying live it up once in ur life so u can enjoy the experience and have a priceless memory

It's not showing off if these are the circles you live in. I'm sure back when I was a kids in the projects of Southern Ill I would look at you life now and think much of what you buy is bullshit lol. People live and float up to the level of their means. Where does liking nice stuff stop and showing off start? Is it at a brand new Camry, Mercedes, Lotus, Lamborghini, or that Ferarri they showed? Most of us seem to set the "show off" point when it's beyond what we can individually imagine. Well if you are a multi-billionaire...you can imagine some big shit lol
@Honestman400
@Honestman400 10 жыл бұрын
mrhoffame Sorry, but it is showing off, as you so aptly demonstrated by your comment: *"the circles they live in".* It is all about *"keeping up with the Jones's"* and impressing people you mix with in that circle. If that isn't showing off, I don't know what is.
@mrhoffame
@mrhoffame 10 жыл бұрын
Honestman400 Within the circles you live in..is everything you buy "showing off" for those in your circle? Because I'm sure you buy and do some things in life that many poor people in the project would think is not needed. Now don't get me wrong, there are people AT EVERY economic level that show off from the filthy rich buying a million dollar car to the college student working at dillards that buys a $350 purse she can't afford. I'm just saying I don't think if fair for you say that anyone that buys something that is out of your league is showing off. Maybe they just actually like it and can afford it. Personally I'm just sick of always hearing so many in this country talk about equality and not judging people, etc...yet every rich person is automatically made out to be "greedy, showing off" etc. What do you think every black person is? What is every gay person to you? Gonna judge those entire groups too as being something?
@Honestman400
@Honestman400 10 жыл бұрын
mrhoffame Perhaps I should qualify. Anything that you buy that you don't really need for a comfortable life, is showing off. Anyone who has enough money to spend it on something like these toys. is showing off. In a world where millions of babies die every year for lack of the basic necessities of life, the idea that some people feel it is Ok to spend their wealth on unnecessary luxuries like these, is not only showing off, it is obscene, self-indulgence, but then, that is the American way. The American Dream is a fantasy, for the vast majority of Americans If you think it is OK, I suggest you watch this video. Watch?v=/QPKKQnijnsM - Wealth inequality in America.

Honestman400 I do understand. MY POINT IS..there are people at EVERY ECONOMIC LEVEL that buy something to show off, or make themselves feel better. It's your attitude that ANYONE WHO BUYS ANYTHING far beyond YOUR capability is ONLY showing off. As far as economics...What you don't seem to understand is the billion/ trillions of dollars that are spent on aide, social welfare programs and so forth that have saved millions of lives over the years starts with an economic system that has the ability to generate this kind wealth. You must be one of those people who thinks as if there is a "SET" amount of money in the world and if a rich person has X amount then someone else has less. That is such a false primus that so many people follow and it makes you think more people would get more if you took from the wealthy and gave to a poorer person. Noone that has this kind of wealth achieved it by having 4 people work for them. The heirs to Walmart employ over 1 million people with the average store manager making over 100K a year. To me...if you are one of the few who can afford this shit...it tells me there are a few million people employed because of you. All you see is "Look what they have and I don't"! That is truly the selfish position my friend. It's just really funny to me that the things you can't afford and don't desire..if someone else does is showing off? If you have ever seen my channel I am huge music lover. Vinyl record collector. If I were billionaire tomorrow I would HONESTLY have 100s of thousands if not millions or records in a specially designed music room. I could easily design a audiophile system that could run into the six figures. Not because I'm showing off, but because I LOVE LOVE LOVE music and audiophile equipment...AND..could afford it! Not to mention my musical shopping spree with be passing money to 1000s of bands trying to make a living, the contractors who would build it, the manufacturers of the audio gear, the shit load more of taxes I would pay on the purchase, and the shit load more of property taxes I would pay to the schools in that area. Not to mention the 40% the govt ALREADY took off the top when I won the dam money. You are one that would never cheer me on to say..wow..that community that just got a HUGE injection of money and revenue because I could all of sudden afford a multi million dollar music room. All you would see is "He is doesn't truly enjoy that, he is just showing off his greed". My simple point is..just because YOU don't like something doesn't meant someone else only buys it to show off. Maybe some can just enjoy what you can't afford to enjoy.

1. So you don't believe in the free market, or being all you can be? 2. So you believe everyone should earn what you do, and therefore achieve mediocrity, as you do, making new discoveries, technology, and great doctors extinct. You also don't believe that investors should instead invest in things like transplant research, alternative energy, or communications tech. 3. You don't believe that if someone earned some money, they get to keep it fair and square? 4. You don't understand that the rich already pay most of our taxes? Well they do. The rich already pay for your welfare check, free phone, and free meals.

I believe in a free market, but being a billionaire is just way overboard. It's the downside/con of capitalism. It's okay to be a multi-millionaire instead of a billionaire by donating your money or being taxed. Your still extremely rich and well off.

People who buy things like this are extremely selfish and narcissictic, thats a must if one want to become that rich. They simply dont care about other people as they considder them less expansive as their car or watch or whatever. Actually, they are very sick and in a way dangerous for mankind.
