If you're fast enough you can either shift the weight and reduce it as you let go of the accell, or just hop off the board immediately to at least catch the fall with your feet first to slow you down before impact w/ the ground

If you get the wobbles I recommend making yourself smaller and really relaxing your stance. Usually speed wobbles are because you are too stiff and putting too much weight on the back of the board. Glad you’re okay, though! Stay safe!

I ate it on my Onewheel going just under 20mph and cracked my helmet in half. Came out mostly unscathed, with a slight concussion and way more respect for asphalt. Glad to see I'm not the only one that writhes in pain for a bit lol.

Gloves are a must. I always wear helmet and gloves. I need to get a padded jacket and knee pads too. Folks, make sure to get a helmet rated for PEV speeds! I got a concussion that probably could've been avoided with a better helmet.

I just picked up my first esk8 and fell a week later. Elbow pad caught the pavement and slid up, tearing off most of the skin from my elbow and forearm - far worse than your rash. I laid there in pain bleeding for awhile too. Now I'm shopping or full motocross or riot gear plastic armor LOL.

did the same thing about a month ago with only a helmet for safety. i got cocky and tried to pass a car on a shitty road. shredded my palms and knee, my board ended up lodged under the car.

I was getting close to ordering a Backfire G3. It would be my first board. No experience. Your fall is giving me second thoughts. How did your fall happen? Did you shift your weight while starting to carve? Or did you wheels skid on the dirt?

I was using lose bushings because some people insist that hard bushing was not the answer a stable board. I wanted to try lose bushings and immediately got wobbles. But I should have lowered myself and maintained speed. Because in a wobble im you need you lower your body to stabilize. However I pulled on the brakes, which was a bad move because I physically had to stand back up to adjust to the momentum. As soon as I stood up, the wobble got even worse and the board shot out from under me. Get your board, usually the default bushings are pretty stiff and you should be okay with those.

@@evtechsteven Thanks for responding. I'm 55. Have no interest in carving. I just want to go about 20 MPH on smooth paved roads with 96 mm wheels and a flex board. What type of bushings would I need? Do wobbles always happen from time to time? Are wobbles easier to deal with with a flex board? I'm 165 pounds. I took a test drive on a Boosted Board four years ago. It was my first time. I l loved it but remember thinking it felt too flexy.

Yeah I set it loose. Very loose. I was pretty new to eskate. Some people were saying skateboards are more stable when the bushings are loose. So I tried it and paid the price lol

To prevent speed wobbles always have pressure from heel to toe back and forth even if it's just slight pressure. Just like snowboarding. I ride esk8's as well at much higher speeds and using the technique I just described I never experience speed wobbles and the only time I didn't I started to develop a wobble.

Yeah u got the speed wobble bro, didn't slow down and when u hit that crack in the pavement it was just enough force to send u flying. Also, u ate the road my guy, just slid in one spot. I've done this a few times hurts real bad, u can lose lots of skin and deep when u don't know how to roll out ur momentum. When u land from a fall next time try to roll on ur body, move it in any way possible to keep from sliding on just one surface alone. If u roll a bit it distributes the impact across different areas of the body and clothing reducing road rash.

That's how I fell off my kaabo wolf king gt going a little over 35mph, I knew I was going faster than 35mph because that was the max speed limit on the road and I was passing up cars, luckily I had a backpack on but still end up having serious lower back road rash

If you're getting wobbles on your electric or non electric skateboard you need to tighten your front trucks a little bit more than the back put another slight turn to a turn on it as long as your front trucks are always tighter than the back trucks you should not be getting speed wobbles unless you have a small bushings

I have 2 questions. what kind of shitty motorcycle jacket is that that it literally burst?? and second, if you're wearing all that gear anyway, why not wear gloves as well? I mean I'm not getting on your case here, I don't wear ANY gear on my inmotion v10f but if I would wear gear, gloves would be one of my first priorities as well as elbow pads. your hands are how you catch yourself

highly recommend a real padded set of gear and not that amazon crap, best brand i know is lazy rolling. I you need something cheaper protec or triple 8 knee and elbow pads are excellent. Generally learning how to properly fall on a board helps the most, watch a few vids on it(preferably those on downhill skating since its the most professional and advocate group of skating gear)
