As an AVID Floatwheel rider I'm incredibly happy to hear a positive review coming from you. I anticipated that youd be more so biased towards FM boards. So i truly applaud you and your quick Floatwheel review. Glad you really got your feet on it finally. I truly adore my Floatwheel, even have a second one coming. For real tho, i thought you were going to just crap on it and you didnt and you remained honest. Good job dude! And yea, the amount of things you can adjust in the VESC software is incredible. You'd have a blast really getting in there and tweaking to your liking. Also, that motor inside it is INCREDIBLY powerful. Love this video, Scot! -Tyler Hamline

@@ScotMendenhall I love my onewheels and my FW! I will also say it's really simple to save/switch tunes on the VESC software but there is definitely a learning curve to the settings. I'm a huge fan of a lot of things about the FM ride feel and I think I recreated those in my tune, with some better hill capabilities (but you basically don't notice the ATR kicking in at all). I'd like to see both succeed and think the competition has been a net positive.

Yeah I just can't bother with OneWheel anymore, FM has lost it. They are suing everyone as of recently, super aggressive, stifling many aspects of floating communities - they're disconnected and all about greed, ignoring major issues going on for months/years, and trying to create a space where only they can exist. FM wasn't the original creators of the OneWheel design either, Louis Rossman covers this really well. I can't support FM anymore. In short, got a FloatWheel in, ridiculous power, and it is climbing mountains/hills I never thought possible in NC, that my electric board couldn't even climb which is ridiculous. To each their own, glad we're all floating, I just can't justify supporting them anymore, and I don't want to feed their faux-like founderism rampage.

the turn tilt turn to 7 is the first time I realized I can not ride it without turn tilt, it just feels way more locked in for carve

As a person who tried the floatwheel and admire the work of it I thought is a great ride and the torque of the board is a game changer but that said I whould not switch from GT to a floatwheel. I am happy with my GT and I love to ride it.

There are so many little features that make it a super fun experience when riding vesc. The more you ride vesc the more you love it because of all the features you find as you dial in your personal tune. Glad you got to ride one!!

Scot, so pleased with your unbiased review. I’m loving my ADV boards, but also enjoy my XRs. Wifey thinks the PintX is the best all round board for her. Both great products, and I hope the innovation benefits the rider community. Onewheel have nailed the simplicity factor, pull it out of the box and ride, though for us tinkerers I’m loving Vesc.

I love my ADV as well but definitely have a soft spot for the pint X - the potential drop in electronics that are being worked on to vesc the pint X sound perfect. There were claims of GT-S power with that swap. That with some W rails might make the pint X my slightly preferred board again. Just feels gimped by the FM software/firmware right now

Is he talking about turn tilt and ATR? Once I experienced this I literally can't go back to my GT. The Floatwheel just keeps it's nose up all the time and rides through everything. Its like a cheat code.

Finally, you talking about Vesc without it just being you speculating about what you might/might not like😉 Making a "save" of the settings (called quicksave) is as easy as saving a radiostation on an old radio, just hold down the button and name it, and you can just go crazy or modifications of your tunes Hasn't it been proven enough that FW outrides the GTS in everything yet? Speed, hillclimb and corner turning Thay you went out and couldn't find any hills that the GTS can't climb only tells you didn't go steep enough, where the FW would have climbed through The nose looks really high on that board tho, you should have had your friend help putting it down a bit (like a 30 second setting thing) Hope you'll give it more honest goes when the snow is gone, and have a bit of help tuning it to your liking, cuz it does have a bit of a learning curve, and the free feeling you have when you have the ability to change pretty much every setting + you can still adjust your riding posture, one doesn't exclude the other, but is more in the realm om 1+1=3

If you have access to a floatwheel I'd love for you to review my FW tune. I think it rides like a FM board cranked up to 11 (looser tuning style like mission, pacific, etc.). I also think my ATR settings are subtle yet effective. I also think the foot fatigue is from too stiff of a nose in the tune.
