5:35 in Scarlet/Violet there's the waterfall cave in Area Zero which is not visible in the main Area Zero open location and is the only place where Roaring Moon/Iron Valiant spawn and the game doesn't tell you about that at all (besides the professor using one of these Pokemon as their ace, so at max you know they exist and are out there, but the where is completely up to the player to find out). I feel like that's a similar concept to the og Power Plant, but for sure I would like them to expand upon this on future games.

There's also a pretty big cave near the Crystal Pool in Kitakami that I think is meant to be a secret, I at least completely missed before seeing it in a youtube video, it's the only place to catch Feebas and has one of the ogre clan trainers.

I love that the Dream World came to discussion. I used the Dream world quite a lot back then, and I still have that Dream Ball Arceus *uncatched* in my White’s Entralink forest which is super cool! A wild Arceus is just standing in the forest, waiting to be talked to. Back then I didn’t catch it because I wanted good nature and good IV’s so ”I had to have the mindset to do lots of resets” and just never got around doing it. But recently I’ve been very into Event preservation, and I’m trying to have every special event unused in one of the games so I can experience them whenever I want and then just reset. And because of that, I’m conflicted because on the other hand, I’d love to catch and own an official Dream Ball Arceus and bring it to the new Gens, but on the other hand, it was an extremely rare event due to the lowish userbase of Dream World, so having that Arceus in the forest ready to be caught is a special sight worth preserving as well. Now that Bank closes down at some point in the future, I need to make that decision probably sooner rather than later..

I want a feature that allows us to befriend wild Pokemon like Ash does in the anime. For example, you are in a wild area and this Shinx approaches you being curious and you have the option to throw a toy ball at him and start playing with the wild Shinx and even pet him. After a while the wild Shinx will grow fond of you and he will choose to come with you on his own and you can catch it without much issues

1:20:24 King of Fighters 13, Blade Strangers, Under Night In-Birth, and Kirby of the Stars Wii Deluxe are the best examples of having 2D character models on top of 3D backgrounds. It can work in Pokémon. The character sprites just have to be like anime characters on cels. They do not have to look like block stacks. The idea can save memory size for extra fun content, and the Pokémon can sell just as normal as people are fine with Japanese content being Japanese content as it is.

A modern day battle frontier would be crazy. And a modern day advance contest hall. Mythicals should also get a short story dlc like Pecharunt did. It was amazing. (Free) and there’s not fear of missing out because your country doesn’t have a GameStop or whatever. And dynamic weather like in Breathe of the wild but a Pokémon twist like Shield and sword. Where a thunderstorm will boost electric moves, wind moves and water moves and could possibly have rare spawns. And sunny day could weaken ground type moves align with water moves etc.

On the note of catching a lot of Pokemon in Legends, the story side of it was Lavender wanted to create the first pokedex. But imagine in Legends Z-A the justification would be that most of the pokemon in Lumiose are corrupted by something. So you need to go around and capture them however many times and do various tasks to get this pokemon free from corruption so that way Lumiose becomes safe to reside in again. Idk if anyone has thought of this yet, but I had to mention this before the idea escapes me. With Zygarde's role being that he wants to maintain the ecosystem of the world, it would make sense that he maybe telepathically communicates to the player character and basically explains that something has happened to the pokemon and has caused them to lash out. Or maybe Zygarde itself has been corrupted and has caused this "plague", which would kinda make sense seeing as how we're in a seemingly older version of Kalos that's obviously based off Paris, France. Zygarde also has these cores which could play a role into that as well, maybe it's the cores that are corrupted. I'm gonna make a Marvel reference here, so Venom is a symbiote that needs a host to survive. In the Absolute Carnage storyline there's these things called "codexes" which are essentially an organic tracker that Cletus Kassady (Carnage) uses to hunt down anyone who's ever bonded with a symbiote. His goal is to swipe these codexes from the hosts bodies whether they are a live or not, so that he can become more powerful and basically take over the world and corrupt everyone else. Obviously this is Pokemon so it won't get that dark😂, but they can kinda find a way to play with this idea. Definitely a crackpot theory but hey, my creative juices are flowing right now 🤣

Just had this idea for a pokemon, I don't have a twitter, but I hope someone takes it somewhere. I've beeen playing bagpipes for 28 years and played in 21 different countries, including with a portugese bagpipe band which pitch their reeds at a different tone. Not where I'm going with the shiny, hold on - that would be a good regional variant since French bagpipes are a thing. Wink. But Where I was getting at with a shiny was that this past competition was the first time I think I saw a piper play with bagpipes on the right with hands swapped. It took 27.95 years and the first time I encounter a shiny piper was at this off hand band competition. Made me want to have a bagpipe mon at some point.

I like to think TPC noticed that fans were misinterpreting their previous game as an open world, so they felt the need to clarify that this time it's what we were hoping for with PLA & not spread any confusion around.

hot take but I think pokemon should put more effort into connecting regions together. I’ve never played ORAS but since Hoenn has a lot of connection to Kalos, a remake where you visit both regions just like HGSS would be so nice. Same with B&W, a remake where you visit Paldea since the two are connected would be nice. I think it adds a lot more depth to the pokemon games by connecting them together

All I ask is for them to -bring back pixelart 2D/3D style like Brown Dust or Oathpath(open world isn't their genre they suck at it) -All the features fans loved -No gimmicksz(-megas, dynamic, etc) - On/off exp share - Better Amie mode(like making status effects matter again, bond, so on) -Built in nuzlocke if the player wants it -Allow players tomeither be a good guy ormbad guy - VOICE ACTING(it's been 20+ years) -Along with voice acting, pokemon should sound like their anime counterpart(switch on and off for ppl who love the random old school sounds pokemon make) -Allow the players to become a gym leader or elite four member after beating the game and playing against other players with rules and puzzles of your choice

sorry in advance as this turned into a bit of a ramble, but on the idea about bringing back the Safari Zone being similar to PLA mechanics, why not use that as a way to bring in the PLA catching system into the main game? Sure, I would prefer if they just made that system the default and remove the Scarlet and Violet system as I think that's slightly janky but I could see it happening. I think Gen 10 could have a larger than normal base 'Dex. iirc Sword/Shield, Scarlet/Violet and even USUM have regional 'Dexes of around 400. So what if Gen 10 had an extra 100-150 tied to a Safari Zone-esque area of the map that you unlock mid-game (or even as a special postgame thing?) that brings back most of the PLA mechanics (without the battling part at least) so a. bring back and modernize a classic mechanic and b. to reuse one of the best additions to the gameplay from one of the most interesting (sort of) spinoffs in the franchise? This temporarily locked-off part of the map could also be a good way to get regional forms from other regions without waiting for DLC or using Pokemon Home

A thing they could do to add fun to shiny hunting is having a 2nd version of a shiny (a.k.a. ultra shiny or something). This would also be good for gen 1-5 mons as well because back then, the shiny pallets were random, whereas from gen 6 onwards, the shinies were designed. When it comes to gen 9, if I was them, once they run out of starters, they should start doing legendaries with a chance of being shiny, and then mythicals as well as a chance of getting a 2nd of the gen 2 and gen 5 legendary paradoxes. To top it off, the last raid event before they stop supporting scvi, should be a chance to get a shiny miraidon/koraidon

Yeah with square and regular shinies. But not only was that mechanic broken, it is sometimes hard to see. I feel like with a different shiny variation, it would make everyone excited again, as they would be surprised about finding out that their favourite pokemon has a new shiny. Sadly game Freak won't do because it is a lot of work.

30:20 It is the school setting that takes away too much of the freedom and adventure. Schools are literally places you do not mess around in as you are stuck in a classroom. Houen in especially Pokémon Emerald did schools right as like minor places, and Tsutsuji and Adan the Gym Leaders being teachers in their own way. Kids love being able to customize their characters different from themselves. Giving both the boy and girl players the same clothes and hairstyles to pick from makes the boy or girl option pointless since the option should be for picking the character design you prefer.

To me i wouldnt say we warmed up to shinies, its just very hard and time consuming to hunt them. Personally pogo yes made it incredibly easy and fast but i started hunting in xy(30shinies) and before that im like yeah i love shinies but i dont have nor want to invest the time to get them but now i took 3 months to shiny hunt and finish lets go dex and paldea dex. When its a time i can get behind ill shiny hunt but if its too hard like sos or galar im not gonna invest the time

I honestly don't care for the weekday events. Drifloon in gen 4 was a pain because you either knew it was there or missed it completely. It felt more like a punishment than an easter egg, oh you completed the wind valley quest on a friday? wait a week to get drifloon which will under levelled for your team OR halt all progress whilst you wait for it to spawn to play again, oh you forget it's was friday, haha guess what you missed it again. Now if it was implemented in such a way to give access to some Pokemon earlier or if it's a post game only thing, then sure but don't lock new Pokemon behind it. I don't want an open world, i would much rather a series of medium to large maps to explore. Also no voice acting, i don't want it, it will kill some more of the magic of the games, especially if we are a stand in character who doesn't talk.

Hey I'd love to see an unpopular opinions episode maybe you could take them from the community? If so here's mine. A Pokemons stats should be hidden, frankly I think it would make the entire franchise better. Competitive is boring as people all use the same 10 mon which sucks. The entire concept of visible stats feels antithetical to the idea of Pokemon who the game encourages you to view as friends.

You fail to understand that visible stats are the very essence to make the game competitive in any way. Without visible stats there would not be a competitive game, because every pokemon is just copy and paste of each other. Typing and Ability are not enough to differentiate Pokemon from each other in a battle. It’s the fact that some pokemon are bulky, some super fast, some very strong, some mixed but their ability pushes them towards one direction more. You say competitive is boring, but your statless game would make it infinitely more boring; yes people could use many different pokemon more easily, but they would all play mostly the same because of lack of speed tiers, walls etc. And variety of usability and strategy >>> variety in the Pokemon designs you see on your screen. You can play Pokemon as a casual and have them as ”friends”, but when it’s about competitive, let’s keep it competitive
