Born in 83. I have a special nostalgia for the 90s. I'm sure most anyone my age does, but it sure does seem it was a simpler time.
@G2Bryce

It was both simpler and yet more complex. Technology has made our lives more efficient, but at a cost. Life was slower back then, yet still packed with possibilities. Technology didn't invade every aspect of our lives and most of the technology in our lives was there to make our lives easier. Now technology has been designed to make our lives easier but also with less privacy. It's a big trade off that over time has long repercussions. The thing I miss most was the socializing. Personal relationships genuinely meant a lot more back then. People would take the time to spend literally all day just to play board games together with neighbors and friends. Barbeques and parties were common throughout the entire summer. Even if it was just cheep hot dogs, corn on the cob, and maybe some burger patties, people would get together almost every evening throughout the summer. It was that or sit inside and watch TV, if you had one. People in apartment buildings would even leave their doors open when they were at home, so that neighbors could just walk by and say hello, although this quickly became phased out even in the 90s, I still saw it enough to know it was still a common thing. In so many ways I miss it. I know it had it's major flaws, but it was truly a great time to have been alive. I'm glad I was a 90s kid

@@G2BryceThat’s got to be the best description I’ve seen to accurately describe it. Don’t get me wrong, I love being able to use navigation, pay bills, take pictures, etc. all on my phone, but you’re absolutely right, technology has also diminished our relationship with people and made us more rushed with little patience.

I was born in '83 as well. The '90's were something else. Every year there was something new. 1990 and 1999 looked like two different worlds, at least to me. Some people like to put the blame on Social media, but forget we had blogs.

The 1990's was probably the best time I ever had. Amazing movies, comfortable clothes, cool toys, fantastic music which in my opinion will never be replaced. People talked to each other. We went to the mall just to hangout. We called friends on landline phones and would run to the phone when it rang because we didn't know who was calling It was an awesome decade. Thank you so much Mike for what you do.💯♥️.

Was born in 2002 but I knew I would’ve loved the 90s. The music, the fashion, movies and TV, and the vibes of how people interacted. So many innovations in technology and research, 1994 gave us so many of the greatest movies ever, 1998 which was a legendary year for games, many of the most iconic albums and songs are from the 90s. Sometimes I wish I was my parents’ age just to experience how cool the 90s was! 😌

My stepdad just bought a used car. The guy he bought it from said a kid looked at it that morning. He said the kid got in it and asked him what the extra pedal was for. The man just told him that the car wasn’t for him. In that moment I realized I was old. Kids (most not all) old enough to drive and buy their own cars, have no idea what a manual transmission is. I still can’t drive one, have tried many times, but at least I know what it is! LOL
@LiterallyCensoredDaily
@LiterallyCensoredDaily 10 ай бұрын
@@susanwright1931 the one vehicle I've tried it with was a 1987 Ford Ranger where the transmission was blown, so it had about half of second gear and that's it. Because of that, I'm not sure whether I suck at manual transmission, or if I'm amazing at it. Nobody else except for my buddy Nate could even drive the damn thing without stalling, but we could make it peel tire.

Born in 1988, I grew up in the '90's, and apparently a millennial. lol You are so right, Mike, the '90's really was the best decade; I was a kid then! From the fashion, to the music, the toys, the video games, the Disney movies, Nickelodeon, Pokémon, the list goes on! I had my long hair up in a ponytail with a scrunchie a lot of the time; played on my digital pet thing called a Giga Pet, similar to a Tamogotchi, a whole lot; had a ton of Beanie Babies and Polly Pockets; watched a lot of Disney movies numerous times(when you mentioned Disney movies and I saw the Lion King clips, you got Circle of Life stuck in my head! XD); was introduced to the whole Lisa Frank and Hello Kitty fads; saw my share of Nick shows at school before it started for the day(my home didn't have cable tv for much of the decade), shows like Doug, Aaahh Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, All That, The Amanda Show, and (ugh! gave me nightmares!) Beetlejuice; discovered Pokémon and _adored_ it, the cards, the show, and the video game; got introduced to computer games like Dig Dug, Pac Man, Solitaire, Minesweeper, 3D Pinball, Kid Pix, and others; discovered Robin Williams films and _adored_ them; played outside a lot more; got hooked on video games(well, watching them being played, mostly, aside from Pokémon) like Bomberman Hero, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Party 2, Mario Kart 64, Gran Turismo, etc...; and so on and so forth... XD That was a nice trip down memory lane, dude! ^_^

The thing is a lot of modern day technology, music, movies franchise, video game franchises, trends, fashion etc. got invented or took a foothold in the 90’s. It is hard to think of things that actually got invented in the 2020’s or 2010’s or even 2000’s. The 90’s were the last decade of great invention. Most things today have just been improved upon rehashes of yesteryear.

I was born at the beginning of that wonderful decade and I was caught in the Canadian crazes that were popular during the time. I remember growing up playing with Furby, watching awesome TV shows and getting awesome Happy Meal toys from McDonalds. Also, I well remember the Disney Reneaissance era which I watched just about every musical from that decade. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan and Tarzan were the movies that were released during that time. In fact, one of my favorite shows The Big Comfy Couch debuted in 1993 on YTV and it was a great Canadian show teaching us valuable lessons. Then, Arthur, Teletubbies and Blue's Clues came along on my radar and I was hooked to the TV screen. Even Caillou was interesting to me, even though that show was annoying to parents. Today, I don't even watch the new kids' shows because I'm often drawn to the nostalgia of the 90s. Also, we had kitchen parties and yes, celebrating class birthdays was a real thing. I even collected troll dolls and other collectible toys back in those days.

Back in 1997 I was 12 my brother was 8. He looked like he was 5 or 6. My dad was a college professor. We were at a Christmas party held by the university. The MC said it was time for the Macarena. If you don’t know it, no worries we’ll teach you. My brother gets all excited and jumps on to the dance floor the size of a football field. Music starts and he starts dancing in the middle of the dance floor. The MC says to just watch him. Imagine a little kid alone dancing the Macarena. Slowly other people start joining him. Imagine if that happened today. Everyone would start recording it and it might have gone viral.

The games I grew up with was Sonic the Hedgehog and Megaman, spending time with Family was everything cause we actually talked to each other and not on the phone. I still have my tote full of beanie babies. Favorite 90’s movies were The rescuers down under, the great mouse detective and Oliver and company . The best part of all of the 90’s for me and my friends was finding out that The King of Pop composed every single soundtrack to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and that’s why that is the only game in the franchise is protected by copyrights.

As a 20 year old in 92 in London, everything that is taken for granted now started in the 90s. The 20s 30s 50s 60s 70s 80 and 90s all had a specific individuality. In the years since NOTHING stands out as original , not music, fashion, art , political thought and practice, architecture. Nothing but fear and cynicism even the "me too" and "black lives matter" had origins in fear and abuse. I feel for the youth of today but I also despair of them. Stand up, fight back, shout louder. It's like whole generations have instinctively dumbed down.

For those of us who were into PCs, the 90's were amazing! Each new computer was eons more powerful than the previous generation. You had the advent of mass adoption of 3D graphics, sound cards, CD/DVD ROMs, etc. PC games saw the creationof RPGs, first person shooters, and flight sims. It was the golden age of EA, LucasArts, Sierra, Origin, etc. You could geek out at Frys or MicroCenter. You had the early internet through AOL, BBS's, and web pages through Netscape Navigator. But our lives were still disconnected enough where the PC was more of an escape from reality rather than an essential part of our lives.

The Noughy era...my era, yes. I miss this a lot. Hard to believe that it wasn't long ago either. Also I can't believe that the party decade sort of gave birth to this weird decade. Considering it was just a generation, the divide is quite huge. Yes, the last of everything, as we'll never do a lot of this stuff again.

My son is obsessed with electronics and the internet. I have him in cub scouts, soccer, and baseball. Outside is a magical place beyond anything the internet can give. All I have to say is Breaking up was easy in the 90s. I miss road trips with no GPS. Just trying to get lost on purpose. Being able to meet befriend and talk to random people. Thank you for this video. My class of 1995. Enough said.

I miss Orbits so much. I was a huge fan of them when they came out both due to their taste and the nerd cred that came with knowing how those little balls were suspended. But they were insanely expensive for the time. At $3.00-$5.00 a pop, depending on if you luckily found them at a grocery store, or stumbled across them at Busch Gardens, at a time when a one litre Coca-Cola was only 99¢, it was doomed to fail once the wow factor wore off.

PS2: I remember Y2K, and I was a bit scared, yes, but I was also nine years old, but all I did was grab a few flashlights, and mom told me afterwards, "No, it's always best to be prepared, right?" Obviously she hadn't thought anything was going to happen anyway, but I remember hearing rumors that all the world's power would stop working at midnight. That kind of thing.

the 90's were the last decade to have it's out style like the 80's 70's 60s and 50's did. that really started in the 50s as before young people just wore what their mum's and dads did. since the 90s every decade has been so similar to the one before
