Hi Mike, Texas also has laws regulating the time you can buy alcohol. Monday through Saturday you can buy alcohol from 7:00 am until midnight. On Saturday you can buy alcohol until 1:00 am Sunday. On Sunday you can't buy alcohol until 12 noon. You can only get hard liquor at a liquor store. They are all closed on Sunday, and during the week, their hours are either 9:00 or 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. You can get drinks at a bar until 2:00 am.

I live in Maine, where tourism is a major industry, and as such, there are a lot of scenic laws. For example, billboards are illegal here (in fact, I thought they were an invention of TV as a young kid, until I traveled out of state and saw one for the first time) and the McDonald's in Freeport lost a case where it wanted to tear down a colonial mansion to build a restaurant, so now the store is *in* the house. Also, outdoor Christmas lights and decorations cannot be put up any sooner than a week before Thanksgiving (something Walmart tried to contest and failed) and must be down by January 15th, although how strongly that's imposed depends on how nice the neighborhood/town is (lower income neighborhoods with less aesthetically pleasing homes can sometimes get away with leaving their Christmas lights up all year, for example).

12:43 actually, the establishment needs a permit to have a dance floor and be classed as a nightclub etc, but if you live in Sweden, whether you’re Swedish or not, you are allowed to get up and dance even if there’s no dance floor. Dancing is allowed without a permit. Having a dance floor needs a permit. It has to do with regulations such as fire safety stuff and the government just needs to know if you have the necessary stuff and taking necessary precautions, because there’s differences if there’s suddenly a fire in a restaurant for example, it’s easier to evacuate than if there’s a fire at a nightclub and we have had such devastating incidents in Sweden with nightclub fires with too many casualties. Another example is about restaurants needing a permit to be able to serve alcohol. It’s mostly so that the government will know which establishments sells alcohol to its patrons so that they can do undercover checking once in a while to see if they’re asking for ID or not. Oftentimes, laws are made just so that it will be easier to check if other laws are followed. The most stupid law in Sweden must be the one about prostitution. It’s legal to sell sex but it is illegal to buy sex.
@angelicakoutsouridakis581610 ай бұрын
Source: I’ve taken courses about fire safety etc and yes, you get to put out fires which is cool, but we were also forced to watch videos of such incidents where we had to listen to the screams of people getting trampled and burned alive from nightclubs where there was lacking fire safety and they let in more people than they had capacity for etc.

In Klamath Falls, Oregon it is illegal to kick a snake while walking on the sidewalk. This dates back to the time of wooden raised sidewalks. The snakes would gather under the sidewalks and rest after a night of hunting rats and other rodents in the local streets and open businesses. Each business had open areas under the floors and the rodents would come up from these areas to feast on any crumbs or scraps that people dropped during the day. This law reduced the number of rodents and made the city safer and less prone to transmittable diseases.
