Chloroforming actually doesn't work, though, it's a Hollywood thing. You'd need a continuous stream of the liquid to knock someone out, it's entirely inefficient.

It's more likely that someone will pass out from having a dense cloth that's hard to breath through covering their mouth than the chloroform itself. Chloroform as it's used in movies is complete Hollywood BS. So unless an anesthesiologist drops by and administers it correctly, Rob is absolutely correct.

One part of the subtext of the podcast that really makes me appreciate the boys is just how hard they've worked on the show. The writing, the acting, the producing, the editing. They're so close to the material that they can't see it like we do. As a fan, I rarely agree with their self-criticism (I thought the cartoony stuff was and is still funny), but I totally appreciate why they feel the way they do...and it's interesting to hear
@hermionexxx2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. It seems this extends to the podcast as well, that they're concerned with making sure it's as good as possible almost to the point of being too hard on themselves. I knew they must have high standards for the show just based on how great it is but the podcast has been eye opening as to how high! I appreciate the show all the more seeing how much hard work and care they put into it.

I do think it's a bit strange to hear them criticize the cartoony elements when the show is now the most cartoonish it's ever been. I kind of miss the older more realistic episodes and that seems to align with their own opinions as well.

Charlie's story about his roommate busting in the door is something that happened to me as well. My roommate at the time came home drunk and forgot his keys, so instead of calling myself or one of our other 2 roommates to let him in, he proceeds to kick the door about 7-8 times until the handle breaks and the door flies open and puts a dent in the wall. Now, he CLAIMS that he shoulder checked it once and it "popped open" but he was 5'8 and 165lbs soaking wet and the multiple foot prints on the door would suggest otherwise.

I really like the line where Dennis says “no” and “stop” don’t work bc this was definitely an era of TV that really normalized lying and tricking women into sex. Taking it a step further with Dennis somehow feels more realistic. Guys that deliberately manipulate women don’t suddenly become decent once the word “no” is uttered.

I was in the infantry for six years, and the door-kicking thing is completely true, most of the time. Sometimes you come across a steel covered door and it's easier to just go through the wall with a .50.

I had a neighbor in my apartment building. She was locked out, dead bolt and everything. She needed to get in so she gave me the OK. I didn't even kick. I used my shoulder...and it was shocking how much force I used and how little I needed. That sucker popped open so easy and I realized then that 50% of locks are just pacifiers. It makes us feel comfortable and secure...but if somebody wants in, they're getting in.

There was a study done years ago about the fact that there’s a Quick mud corn popularity for their specific generation and a lot of it went back to cartoons and shows from the time like Wonder Woman and stuff. It was an interesting study and pretty entertaining.

@@matthewgallaway3675 you don't necessary have to hate your stuff to improve. But some of the arguments like "it was too cartoonish" are kind of ambiguous since the last season was the most cartoonish overall. So, for me, they're becoming too aware of being politically incorrect and that could create a less adventurous writing.

One of my favorite things to do on rewatches is to try and pick the moments/episodes that are the biggest transition points for each character. Like those moments that are the biggest in making them the characters that we know in season 15. This episode for sure is Dennis' episode, for all the reasons they talk about. For Frank, I have when he finds out he isn't their dad. Both the scene in the restaurant and the now infamous gun scene feel like the pivot for him. For Mac, I have "Mac is a serial killer". Insecure, oblivious, confused/fighting his sexuality. Dee is a bit tough, but I say "The Gang Sells Out". She's just terrible and self-centered at the new job. And she has what she thinks are brilliant schemes that aren't actually working. "I just want you to turn a blind eye while I rob this place stupid". Charlie is extremely difficult because he's pretty much been Charlie the whole time. But I'll go with "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby". That episode really establishes a lot of Charlie and Frank's lifestyle choices.

Hey, it's only powder by the time you get it. When it's in the brick it's a compressed crystalline substance more like a flaky soap. You could remove the wrapping and it would stay together. And to be honest if it doesn't stay together then you are buying crap that's already cut. Someone who isn't me said.
