❤Mom of 3- 40, 39, & 36. I’m 63 . Very few things were discussed or mentioned as part of pregnancy and birth, real talk with your spouse, etc… when I had my children. Thank you Kristen for being real and laying it out there as normal and helping young mommas get through a very beautiful and challenging season . God bless you and your family ❤

I am 55 and a mother of three. I had 3 babies by the time I was 21. No one had talked to me about sex I wish someone had said things before and after. I wouldn't change having my children for a moment but I did talk to my children by the time they were 12 and my daughter at 11. Women should talk to each other and help when we can. Thank you for sharing! It will help women

Thanks for sharing your experiences for new moms. I’m a grandmother now and I tried to share enough with my daughter to inform with honest information but not to scare! My mom shared nothing and never offered to help. With my first I was alone and scared, discouraged and thought I was doing everything wrong. I didn’t even use pacifiers because my mom’s opinion was that was wrong.

Very interesting video. I'm 59, so past having children and I personally didn't want any. But I care so much about our kids in society, that I feel the people who really want kids should be the ones to have them. Children need people like you who love raising the people of our future. On that note it was interesting to learn what Mothers go through having kids. I felt like you gave valuable information to those looking forward to starting a family. Women need to know the reality of the process since it seems like you really don't hear that much about. You are a wonderful loving Mother and doing a great job.

Your tips are spot on. Thank you for the time you took on this topic and sharing. One additional thing that some women think about nursing. You can get pregnant again while you are nursing. Nursing is not a contraceptive.

What a great and informative video! How I wish that I had heard this 33 years ago. Back then, there was info, but it felt like I was so alone and struggling with how to deal with some of these issues. Power through and be the perfect mom was the message I felt was out there. Especially after having twins with sleep issues. . . God was my strength and helper. You’re doing a wonderful job, it seems to me. Best wishes to all of the young moms and families out there. It’s all worth it!

What a wonderful presentation! So down to earth, grounding and specific. Not a mom myself, but went through all the stages with my sister, also a mother of four. She died 3 yrs ago of complications of breast cancer. Her birthday was a couple of days ago. Her family goes to the local art museum in her honor every year on her birthday. All 17 of them. You may not realize the precious memories you’re actually making for your family. Blessings to each of you who are literally creating the next generation.

Yes yes yes! If you are married, and are physically able to, please consider having children sooner rather than later. It will change your life for the better!! And like Kristen said, there is a difference between having a child in your twenties and in your thirties and even fourties. Childbirth takes a toll on your body and your brain and the older you are the harder it is to recover. Having children is a blessing and not a curse like society is painting it these days. Your life is not over when you have kids, in fact your life will not truly start until you have kids. I said what I said. I know there are some women out there that can’t have kids or that can’t find a husband, I get it. But they are the very few. For the rest of you, please take family seriously and children as a blessing. They truly are a blessing from the Lord.

I love that you said that about a messy house. I posted a clean with me video and 2025 goals. People commented how my house was messy and made mean comments. So i deleted it because I really didn't want to hear people tell me I was lazy. It made me feel horrible. When my daughter is awake she wants my full attention, only child who doesn't like to be alone, and that is hard to clean with and have my own personal time. And I'm an introvert so me time is very important. But Im so glad you said that. Thank you!

Rosie is so happy today smiling away!!! She's really a doll! I had a natural birth with one and c-section with the other, I gotta say I was so fortunate with both! I had an hour and a half of labor with each child. I liked the c-section better lol because I wasn't sore down there. I was a very young mother age 21 so maybe that helped but for me childbirth was a breeze! I know that is not the story for so many. You gave some good advice Kristen!

Hi Kristen, thanks so much for your honesty! My contractions after birth were felt from breastfeeding. Maybe that’s the same as you’re describing as pain. Hi Kristen, I'm 78 years old, been married 58 years and have two grown daughters, two grown granddaughters and one great grandson. I was married at nineteen and husband twenty four. My children both were planned, one at 22 and the other at 27. I said, all this to say I knew I wanted two children and I wanted them before I was thirty. I have enjoy having my girls at a younger age and I still enjoy all my family very much. Rest when the babies rest. Enjoyed you video!!!!

I had 4 babies and I am now 61. The tearing I had with my first one, I had no idea about how to breath or any of that, and when I nursed my nipples got engorged with the first 3 with fevers and the pain was horrible but I did push thru it and eventually it went away. I also cannot lift anything heavy or run or jump without leaking so I have to always wear a pad. I didn't start leaking until my youngest was 2. My first 3 were bigger babies and my first husband would not let me get any epideral so it was really bad. Those are a few of the the negatives but the positives are those 4 special babies that are so loved and precious, I would do it all over again. I always enjoy your videos Kristen. I love that you are a christian mom doing what is right for your girls. I look forward to your next video.

I'm sorry, your husband should not have the decision on your medication on delivery. I'm living separate from my husband because he felt he had control over me in all things. That is not Christ like love. Some churches really have distorted what being submissive is.

Don’t worry too much about the pain from breastfeeding when the milk “ lets down “ -that term is different from the reference of the milk coming in BTW. I always experienced a slight tingling sensation the entire year during let down but never pain with that. There is the kind of pain that happens as the result of a bad latch. So learn what to do when that happens. You don’t want to make things worse by pulling the babies mouth away instinctively or out of reflex. You want to break the seal somewhat FIRST

Thank you! I wish I had seen this before I had my first baby over the summer because literally everything you said is true. My biggest regret that I'm still working on has been trying to be super momma, not letting any balls drop with cooking, cleaning, or anything else. Based on my personal journey, I'd add that "fed is best." I experienced D-MER like you did, and my daughter had severe torticollis making it difficult for her to turn her head to breastfeed, so my supply dropped and she spent the first couple weeks starving without us realizing that's why she was crying so much. As soon as I gave up breastfeeding it was like a fog had lifted. Suddenly I could bond with my baby and feel more at home in my body again. And she was a completely different, extremely happy baby. Yes, prepping bottles and tossing them in the dishwasher is work, and it is extremely expensive. But for our little family it was the right choice. Coming to terms with society's expectations vs our individual reality can be hard (I still tear up whenever doctors ask if I'm BF because I never imagined myself not doing it), but it's something we have to do time and time again as a mom.

Keisten, I will be 64 in a few months and I breastfed my 2 children, but you spoke about the milk "letdown". have 2 "etdown" stories, unfortunately both happened at CHURCH! We had a young age church mostly newlyweds and young married, so we had 12 babies 1 and under in our baby nursery, and one Sunday I was chatting with some men and women after church and I had a BEAUTIFUL lavender dress on, and suddenly a woman my age touched my arm and looked at my :front" and my milk had let down and I had 2 HUGE wet spots ON mt dress. I went to the baby nursery bathroom and my husband ( fortunately) ran the few blocks home and got me fresh clothing.... another time a baby in the nursery began crying ( it wasn't my child) but I was sitting in the back row and I was able to get to restroom as my milk letdown!!! The tearing is REAL! I needed episiotomy with each of my boys because they came quickly.....Sex after episiotomy and MENO are a totally dofferent animal!!!!

Something I was told after having baby number five (after a bad week of crying )is babies have free will just the same as us and they can cry just because they want to cry there doesn’t have to be a reason. We will do it at some point so why not a baby? It sounds silly, but I never actually thought of it like that until I was told it.

I just want to add that we recently took in a foster child and while this is our fifth it has been the hardest adjustment of any of our children. I wish my church and our friends would have offered the same amount of help as when we had our own, biological babies. This adjustment was sudden and drastic and meant adding a child who we didn’t know into our established family. Just my thoughts…😊

That is a great point. It's so different welcoming a child into your family when you have time to prepare versus when it is more sudden.

My daughters are both grown. One has seven kids of her own. The other has fur babies. But she does have one of my granddaughters and her baby staying with her. He just started daycare. He now has an ear infection. He’s six months old, and a sweetheart. I didn’t breast feed either one of my girls. With the first one I had what was called toxemia, it’s preeclampsia now. I ate two tacos and gained three pounds. And my blood pressure was really high. So the first one was induced. And I hadn’t been able to eat anything it’s salt for a month or so before I was induced. All I could think of was eating a pizza. So I didn’t want to watch everything I ate to breast feed her. The second one was so easy. She came ten days late. I went to the hospital and she was born forty minutes later. I had mostly back pain. No hard contractions. But I still bottle fed her too. My husband was laid off work when she was born. So he would go get me a bottle and I just fed her then put her back in the bassinet. I had both my girls by the time I was 22. I had my tubes tied at 23. The doctor didn’t want to do it. But I didn’t want to be on birth control. And I knew I did t need anymore kids. I am the youngest of seven. And my mom had me at 37. My oldest daughter has all the kids. She was a grandmother at 44 and she had a two year old at the time. I have grandkids from 26 to 3. And two great grandsons who are both little.

I’ve heard that nursing helps your uterus shrink back to normal size…but, with that in mind, since you nursed your babies, the cramps may have been stronger because the shrinking was speeded up 🤔………great crib mattress 👍🏻

Coming from a grandma, the sooner you have a baby, the sooner Grandma may be able to help and the longer they can have them in their life.
