The best money saving rule I learned was 50/30/20. Use 50% for needs, 30% for wants, 20% for savings from every paycheck. It honestly helped so much

These are my favorite kinds of vids from you. Obviously it takes a while to go through things, reflect, go through new things, reflect some more, and to end up at a set of realizations that you can share, let alone to be in the state of mind to share those realizations on video... but I love witnessing the introspection and getting your advice. So what I mean is I can't ask you to push out MORE of these videos because and you should absolutely avoid being pressured to, but I appreciate when they come out!!

Fun self-reflection while listening: Student Loans: Hey we have around the same amount left! Been making progress and I see the light at the end of the tunnel - sounds like you know how to get out of it too, based on the other tips. Honesty: It saves so much pain. But it can feel complicated or impossible to be honest, or get someone to be honest with you. The hardest thing for me recently has been to get my SO on the same page about honesty about our feelings. Basically, she wants to move on, and I just needed to hear it - but she resorted to stonewalling for so long. Like 6 months at least. It's damn near impossible to convince someone it's okay to break your heart. lol. But once the truth was spoken I was so relieved. It's hard to accept she doesn't want a future with me, but the alternative to hearing the truth is a hellscape of fear and confusion. Knowing when to leave: As mentioned above, my SO decided its time to leave, but I felt that we never even attempted to share our concerns or take even the first step in figuring out if we should break it off. So it's been a little heart wrenching to consistently hear third party advice to move on without including advice to consider what we have and to try putting effort that could turn our stagnating relationship into something stronger than ever. You make it clear it's time to give up when it's toxic and/or when you're not being treated fairly. But I feel like my SO only got advice to simply give up at the first feeling of "doubts" - doubts that we haven't even addressed or discussed like adults. There are toxic relationships, there are relationships that should amicably end for both people's benefits, but there are also relationships you can give up on prematurely. It might be hard figuring out what kind you're in. But this all circles back to "knowing when to leave" when I apply it to myself - dealing with the fact that my SO has DECIDED to move on makes it easy enough for ME to know its "time to leave." She doesn't like who she is and she thinks leaving this relationship will allow her to become who she wants to be. Fighting against her feelings would not only cause resentment toward me, but also perpetually leave me with the uneasiness that she has been so ready to throw our relationship away. I would continue to feel mistreated and unappreciated, so it would not be a relationship that meets my needs. Getting to this acceptance has helped me tremendously. Being friends with opposite sex: I guess I'm going to keep talking about my pending breakup lmao, but anyway - I pride myself on how much I observe and consider various things around me so that I'm mentally prepared for what the world might throw at me. Cuz it's impossible to go through life smoothly, but you can prepare yourself so that you're less likely to be utterly devastated with no warning. Talking to my female friends about how my SO was acting got me perspectives I NEVER could have arrived at myself through introspection. I am able to navigate this breakup while maintaining a good degree of mental wellness only because I heard some hard-to-digest facts early on from girls who had felt and acted similarly to my SO in their past, and were willing to let me hear them. I'm super thankful.

@@Michael-kp4bd Thank you so much for sharing how you are feeling. I'm glad to hear that you are coming to terms with what you're going through and realizing your needs are not being met. I wish you all the luck with your next steps in life and I can say that at the least I'll try to make a video like this around every birthday.

19:03 what helped my was that i thought if i feel it others might feel it too . Maybe like all this happened to me so that it would help me to know and help others in going through the same thing . (Kinda like something you are trying to do) like a sense of purpose . Plus if you're going to quit why not try your best why not prove others wrong and prove to yourself that you can do it ? And you must give a 100% and if something doesn't go as you expected it just means it's just cause of your actions (which could be improved as long as there is another day) or it just means it takes time or it could be a lesson for you not to do it again . Either way in the deepest part of your heart you know that you DESERVE life . You know YOU CAN DO IT !

I’m in a similar situation at home. I feel like the first 18 years of my life haven’t been happy because of my home life and family, but hearing you talk about your life experiences makes me feel less alone, thanks :)

Being a 21 year old male this really helps. I feel so inadept at devloping meaningful relationships, whenever I try to build a romantic relationship I just do everything wrong. Its not like im antisocial or I can't make friends, I cam talk to strangers and become frienda in an hour but actually becoming more then that I fail. And I've been since I was a teenager.

I havent finished the video yet but thank you for talling about codependency and learning boundaries especially when coming from an unstable home. I've struggled with both of these not knowing it was normal (I'm 21) and I am trying to work on overcoming both of them. They're not talked about enough
