Stealth is the way to go to live longer :). Some things I do now once I am able. 1). NEVER use non-suppressed weapons, ever. Sound is telegraphing everyone with a "come and get me". 2). Look for mushrooms and stones, that means someone has been close by not long ago. 3). Pick up mushrooms and stones you generate. Pick up and hide you trash. 4). Never cross open fields. Never travel the edge of the map. 5). Operate at night when possible and in the rain. The worst the weather the better. 6). Never loot your neighbors, they will come looking for you. Try to operate and loot at least three sectors from where you base. 7). Never use white light or fires. Make as little noise as possible. Eat before you go and bring the food and water you will need. 8). Walk don't run near objectives. Watch for traps avoid bushes near entrances. Stop every so often in concealment and observe. 9). Always travel with a trusted partner. So many times, this has saved us and our loot. Spawn in off hours, if you keep dying within 3 seconds, wait till the mean little kids sniping freshies are asleep. 10). Don't shoot zombies unless it's risky to avoid them. Don't shoot at players if avoiding them is easier. We've tried being nice, that doesn't usually work, it has a few times, but people are mostly mean. If people cooperated the game would so much easier, sad, you don't want them to know you are about. 11). Know your safest egress if you make contact or get gassed. 12). Helicopters are risky make sure you look about before engaging the zombies. Only use suppressed weapons. Bunkers are safer for very similar loot. 13). Open Barrels collect water. Put them in out of the way places and use chloring tablets and jerry cans in crates/dry bags to stash purified water. Don't use wells unless absolutely necessary. 14). Take care of your feet. Have leather repair kits or alternate footwear when travelling long distance. Try to avoid having to look for items out of necessity. 15). Plan your mission with your team before you go and take an appropriate loadout. 16). Shoot wolves but not bears. Try to spot the bear first by pausing and observing when in their territory, again walking is better than running. If you are close, go prone. Be ready to crawl over and bandage whoever gets hit, because they will be knocked, out once the bear is a little off. 17). Use the alt key to swivel your point of view without turning your body. It generates less noise and motion. 18). People find stuff. It's really amazing (or questionable), how your super concealed stashes are discovered. Take all your best stuff with you when you exit. We found an awesome encampment North of Geraltow, we have raided it twice for loot we would never have found otherwise. Punch cards, night optics, M4, FALs, witch hats and cauldrons, we felt bad it was such an awesome place. The bigger the encampment the more likely to be discovered. Those big tents are awesome, but anything more than a single medium tent has a high chance of being discovered. Less is more.

the only thing i disagree is on the bag thing, i carry around that bag that has 90 slots simply cause you can fit a whole mosin inside of it, i usually carry 2 snipers and automatic gun for close range, whenever i go near a place i want to loot i drop the bag on a bush leave the sniper inside the bag, along with some other supplies i might need. so if i get killed looting i dont loose everything, also by not having a bag i have much more stamina so i can go and loot everything as quick as possible. Great video as usual, congratulations man you just made me a fan of your work!

Honestly, a burlap bag is great and covert but you need to actually carry shit, especially if you´re a nomad. For that purpose, it´s useless.

On the opposite side of this, if you put a flare or a campfire up high, say on a radio tower or something, preferably one that you can’t look through the bottom of (grated), you can then camp it. People will assume it’s either someone camping for sniping, or if at zenit, camping heli crashes. I’ve got a few players like this, and I even do it before I leave a place. Put a fire or flare in a harder to reach spot, and then leave. People will be less likely to run there directly if they think there’s a player, so it gives time to flee. Works best at night.

Watch the mushroom spawns. If you catch another player's spawned in mushrooms on the ground, they are likely close by. You can track other players by the shroom spawns in the forest.

Fruit and stones work as well. They only spawn in when a player is within a certain distance. The longer a player is around the more mushrooms and fruit spawn. It's helpful when you need food too.

There will always be glitches in most MMOs but it's a 10 year old game that still holds up. It has some of the most intricate and advanced survival mechanics in any game, all of which have evolved over the years. Plus things like a fully operation immune system, health/illness system, bullet ricocheting off organs, separate stomach/calories/digestion, temperature, accurate constellations, blood types/transfusion system, a huge amount of items and tools, incredible bullet physics beyond that of most AAA games and a teddy bear. His name is Brian. On the surface it doesn't look like a lot, and listening to horror stories about glitches, it doesn't sound like a lot - but it's actually a really well put together game offering something else =] Oh, plus they keep updating it for free and adding whole new things
