Can you give me a figure on how much you checking out the engine is? I have bought engines in the past that I should have had a mechanic check out.

I have a 25HP evinrude motor that’s having a similar issue but my motor was running prior to it shutting off and not starting back up.. I literally started it up took the stuff out the boat to wash it down to take out tomorrow morning and when I went to get th water hose and come back the motor had shut off! So I pulled and pulled and nothing not even a stutter! Could you lend me a little bit of your expertise advice to figure out a solution? And thanks

Pull a spark plug boot off and check for spark. Put the spark plug into the boot and ground the plug to the block. Spin the engine over and watch for the spark plug to fire. Do not do this if you smell gas vapor.

The throttle and cables will be dependent on the brand of the engine. Johnson or Mercury for example.
