Awesome! How did you like Old Army? I've only ever gone up New Army.

She Dreams of Alpine it was covered in snow in a couple of spots but we saved several miles going up that way. Worth it.

Thank you for your video and guide! You mention in your guide that there is one tricky spot and that you accidentally went the wrong way at first (to the right of some vertical rock). Does your GPX file show the correct path? I put it through Google Earth but cannot tell where the area of concern is.

Hey there, I've done this peak twice now at this point. It's going to be hard to accurately pinpoint the "concern area" on a gpx file, because really its just that there are 1-2 very small sections where you might need to do some class 2 movements (short and not hard, but could be a little scary if you're not comfortable with that), using your hand and feet in a short section of the trail. Most of the time the "BIG CAIRNS" on the trail will point you in the direction to follow. Its basically a massive boulder/rock field, trail is loosely defined when you get to the summit section, but still fairly easy to follow if there isn't snow. My gpx file on my site is most likely from my "actual" recorded route when I first did it.

How difficult is the scramble section at the end? Any rock climbing or bouldering experience needed?
@shedreamsofalpine37156 жыл бұрын
There is only one "tricky" section that I can remember, and I remember it only being tricky because we couldn't find the right path at first to get to the first big visible Cairn stone pile. My advice would be, if it seems too tricky, you've picked the wrong path. It isn't rock climbing, you should be able to scramble up it fairly safely as long as you are careful, but once past that short section, its easy (yet steep) hiking to the top following a bunch of cairn piles.
