It happens from time to time. Sad but true.

I feel this is one of the most difficult things about bonsai.. sorry to hear it Sid, it was coming along nicely! But the new one does have a very interesting trunk!

Yeah it is a bit sad, but it happens to everyone. Some people only like to share their successes which Is fine, but I feel it is more honest to say "look at this great tree I'm creating" if I also say "ah crap, this one died" Stay safe Katy

So sorry about your Japanese wisteria. I'm a little surprised a Japanese plant would die like that; they are usually very reliable. At least in eastern North America that is.

I'm only guessing that it was the hot Sumner cold winter combo. With the pot broken the weather got right into the roots. But it was still alive when I repotted it and the buds started to swell and the bark was still green underneath in early June. It just seemed to give up. Oh well. Stay safe

Feel sorry for your loss. It was beautiful and you did a great job with it. 🫂

It happens to us all. Some don't like to admit it but I feel if I put out a playlist of videos about a tree anyone following it should know what happens. Stay safe

@@SidsTrees yeah I know. I used to teach classes on a gardening school about bonsai. And I always told them that they was gonna kill alot of trees and shouldn't be to attached to a specific tree , if they continued with the bonsai as a hobby. They always gave me an awkvard stare because they knew I was a tree lover. It is never a good feeling when they die but it is always a lesson to be learned. 👍
