On the canals of the UK, the speed limit is 4mph so how would I fare when given the chance to do over 30 knots on the open sea? An invitation from legendary boat-tour channel @AQUAHOLIC gave me the chance to find out, on a day in Devon with Mr Nick Burnham himself.

This was more of an introspective psychological study than the other Vlogs, I think. It looked like a very enjoyable day. It was also interesting to hear that you felt most closely identified with the smuggler being pursued by the police, rather than ... the police. Perhaps there's a hitherto unseen sliver of the rogue in you. Lie back a bit and tell me about your childhood ... what comes to mind when I say the words "cheese sandwich"? ;)

I couldn't put my finger on why you looked different. The wind swept hair was obvious but then I realized you were smiling the whole time. You obviously really enjoyed yourself and I'm sure all of your viewers loved it too. We used to have a small boats that we took on Windermere that we used for water skiing. We tried it out at sea once after the speed ban on the lake but it didn't go well. We moved abroad shortly after and sold the boat.

Oh how I wish I could experience something like this, just going up and down the coast of this great island! Closest i've managed was on a private dolphin expedition in the caneries where I proposed to my fianceé, moored just off the coast of the island of Lanzarote, While amazing probably isn't going to hold a candle to just going up and down the English Coastline, that salty sea smell, seeing the island from a different angle, so many places I'd visit!
