David, I originated from poole, dorset. The harbour there is exactly the same. No fencing we used to fish as kids with handlines luckily never fell in. I think it's extraordinary no one has gone in as the other side of the road is lined with pubs!

Portals Nous just 12km further on from Palma is THE place for boats David. There is unlimited access to the Marina which is very easy to walk around considering the expensive boats moored there which you can stand just feet away from. I felt it was more 'upmarket' than Palma Marina. Well worth visiting if you have time!

For me, as a denizen of the Texas gulf coast, hearing someone called 17°C "blazingly hot" is wonderfully refreshing! A little geekery from a former planetarium operator. The sundial is called, I think, an "analemic" sundial. An "analemma" is the path the noon sun traces in the sky through the course of the year, represented by that figure8 pattern. The analemma makes the sundial more accurate since it compensates for the change of seasons. Thank you for the lovely tour!

I spent 10 days sailing around Mallorca and in a marina just where you were filming, aboard my second in line father in laws Camper Nicholsen yacht back in the 1980s. It was a great time apart from when the engine control snapped, and I had to operate it at the engine end. The replacement was bough just behind the wonderful cathedral. A large yacht came into an outer dock and unloaded a Rolls Royce specially built shorter to fit in the ships hold. They even had a lamp post at the end of the gangway for the ships dog to use. Are how the other half live.!!!!! Thanks for stirring up memories yet again.

I read somewhere that owners of boats /yachts like those in your vid spend as little as 10% of their time on the boats actually chugging about around the med / world. When you showed the the fish sheltering under the hull of the boat I was sure your were going to say “We need a bigger boat” (From Jaws). Great video thanks.

Thanks for the memories, in the 70s we used to moor often stern to the Paseo Maritimo before all the new marinas and kept our boat there in the Club de Mar for a year for 300 pounds. The King's father lived aboard his yacht along the same pontoon but Juan Carlos fell out with the marina because they wouldnt allow his kids in the pool with an adults only rule.

That was pleasant enough diversion, thank you so much. Many years ago someone misjudged my character and felt me worthy to invite me for a day on a large fancy boat. It was roughly the class of the first set you described as large. Very interesting no doubt, glad I had the opportunity. But to be honest, I get much more pleasure poking around in the reeds in my kayak. I hope your vacation was very relaxing and recharging.

I used to drive down to Port Solent in Portsmouth just to look at the boats. :) I was sad when they fenced off the wharves, but I could understand, especially as it was surrounded by very popular restaurants, cinemas and the like. It wasn't remotely as big as this, but when I drove further west, the road went over a huge river with a *vast* marina! Masts as far as the eye could see! :) I expect some people see it every day on their commute, but it was always a bit of a wonder to me. A particularly historic dock somewhere around there was all just open to be fallen into (lol) when I used to visit. I think it was in Poole. I know it's not really near Porstmouth at all, but the places are grouped together in my mind because they're all on the roads west from where I lived. I used to go driving that way, partly for the drive itself but also for the then-unspoiled beauty of the Isle of Purbeck. *sigh* Dreams... I'd _love_ to live on a boat, but with my health, the chaos level would reach disaster proportions. Maybe in the next life ;)
