The main attribute of powerlifting that I love is the community. The first powerlifting meet I went to was amazing. Everyone was so supportive. There were athletes not even benching a plate and yet the crowd was roaring for them. Truly awesome 🔥

I'm about half way through the video and I have to say, this is amazing. Awesome to see content promoting powerlifting and specifically multi ply, which gets tns of hate. Congratulations to Mr. Minuth and all of the team behind the documentary!

Equipped lifting is ego lifting at it's finest! I can bench 2300lbs with a fork lift, doesn't mean I benched that weight! anything but sleeves in powerlifting, doesn't matter!

@@thor2437 Nowadays it's true what yr saying. What annoys me is that people are hating on equipped lifting back in the day. First of all, the gear did not make as much as a difference as of now. And secondly, raw was not even a thing. Shitting on powerlifting legends from the past because they did not lift raw is just stupid

Very wholesome content and how it all came together at the end. You have the heart of a warrior Mr. Minuth because multi-ply gear or not, you hit 672 with torn muscle. You have a great family and support system, may God be with you all.

I started competing in powerlifting in 1997 and finally retired in 2018 after 21 years with an Elite total. I switched to olympic weightlifting (just for something new) and I honestly never missed powerlifting for one minute.... until watching this. That was motivating, really took me back. Outstanding stuff my friend, you are legit as they come. Side note: I always had amazing results cutting water using a hot bath, something I got from an MMA fighter... epsom salt, cover yourself in Albolene (makeup remover you can buy anywhere), water hot as you can possibly handle. 20 mins in, 5 out and wrapped in warm blankets, repeat. I could usually cut 8 pounds in 90 minutes (I competed in the lighter weight classes), which is usually all I could cut without affecting my performance.

I started weightlifting back in the day, because I had this pent up energy that was driving me nuts. Sometimes I couldn't sleep, and felt like I could tear down the house. I discovered weightlifting, and it was exactly what I needed to blow that pent-up energy off. I've tried creatine, and it makes me feel like that explosive energy I had back the day that made me start weightlifting. I did pretty good, but didn't achieve any world records.

Just absolutely amazing. This man is willing to put it ALL on the line. And I I would too. He's training for this one thing for 15 years, everything finally coming to a head and then literally giving every single thing you've got to get that weight up off the floor. Incredible, inspiring, and also Matt, you're strong as HELL mentally and physically.

I’m 33 years old with a raw total of 1,985. This is unofficial done in gym and not in a sanctioned completion. I’ve always wanted to break 2000 raw but being that I’m not even competing for anything i talk myself out of going for it. Particularly if I get hurt just For the sake of saying i totaled 2000+ like is it even worth attempting when you’re not even competing? Stories like this make me want to Go for it. Thanks for the inspiration.
