Verb plain + もので・ものだから
いAdj + もので・ものだから
なAdj + なもので・なものだから
Noun + なもので・なものだから
because; for that reason
もので is a conjunctive particle that indicates a cause or reason. This is colloquial language. This is used when making excuses. This sentence structure is often used to express something like, "I didn’t really want to do it, but because of ~," implying that there was an unexpected situation or an undesirable reason that led to the outcome. Sentences expressing commands or intentions do not follow it.
(原因・理由)〜ので / 〜から
事故があったもので、遅れました。
→事故があったので、遅れました。
There was an accident, so I was late.
安かったものだから、たくさん買ってしまった。
→安かったので、たくさん買ってしまった。
It was cheap, so I ended up buying a lot.
昨日は仕事が残っていたもので、残業せざるを得ませんでした。
I had work left over yesterday, so I had no choice but to work overtime.
育児は初めてなものだから、失敗ばかりで、申し訳ない気持ちです。
This is my first time raising a child, so I keep making mistakes and feel very sorry.
昨日体調が悪かったものだから、宿題をやる時間が取れませんでした。
I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, so I couldn’t make time to do my homework.
The sentence following "ものですから/もので/ものだから" can sometimes be omitted.
すみません、日本語まだ下手なもので…。ゆっくり話してくれませんか。
I’m sorry, my Japanese isn’t very good yet… Could you please speak slowly?
遅刻してしまってすみません。バスがなかなか来なかったものですから…。
I’m sorry for being late. The bus didn’t come for a long time...
A more casual form of this is "もんだから/もんで."
大雨が降ったもんで、試合が中止になっちゃった。
It rained heavily, so the match was canceled.
人が多いもんだから、席を見つけるのに苦労した。
There were so many people, so it was hard to find a seat.

Excellent! "Monode ..." is a Real conversation! (although if he/she says so, that person can't say "not good at speaking Japanese!). This lesson is intriguing to Japanese viewers. The use of "monode (bits formal?) & "monde" makes a contrast in scenes conceived when they're used. This is very meticulous & hairsplitting, obviously irrelevant to the main subject. Reminder that Japanese is strongly context-dependent. A polite version & a casual one, a master stroke!
