I always see clips of the Balanced Black Girl podcast on TikTok, but this was my first time watching on KZbin. This conversation felt like a realistic take on dating in 2025 that I plan to apply to my own life and share with friends. Great job 👏🏾

I can’t say this enough! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU for posting this conversation 🙏🏾. As a 35yo Black woman currently tip toeing back into dating after years of being intentionally single, Anwar is a true gem and a soothing voice of truth of today’s modern dating scene. I gathered a lot of valuable information in this interview and I can’t wait to use these tips when I get out there. My biggest struggle is dating outside of black men.

Wow! So the guy I broke up with recently is in the 1%. 6’, 6-figure income, and grad degree. And he still wasn’t right for me and didn’t embody the things I NEED in a relationship. Good thing those “qualities” weren’t even on my wants list.

I want him to go a little deeper into being vulnerable. I think some women can be too vulnerable with men and will tell them their deepest traumas. I personally do not believe women or men should tell who they're with that they've experienced SA or DV. Many people, especially men, will lose respect for you and/or use your trauma as a weapon of manipulation against you. This isnt always the case but its best to keep those conversations between you, God, and your therapist. I just dont think people need to know everything about you.
@CambieSweets14 күн бұрын
I understand where you’re coming from but vulnerability isn’t just about negative bad experiences. We must be careful not to trauma dump. Who are you outside your trauma? Who are you when no one else is around? What are the parts of yourself or your thoughts that might be creative or imaginative but you don’t show because you’re afraid people might think you’re weird? Vulnerability is also about being yourself unapologetically and feeling safe enough to share those parts of yourself with someone.

@@NamasteInYourLane I hear you! In one episode there’s only so much we can cover, but he does have a lot of great content on his platforms going deeper into things. I also really love what @cambiesweets added as well
@NamasteInYourLane9 күн бұрын
@@CambieSweets I agree. I just want women to understand the difference. Trauma bonding is common and acceptable among women and we tend to think men relate to other people the same way women do and they don't. Your explanation of being vulnerable is more healthy.

loved the episode, as usual!! LOVE Anwar downnnn on IG and follow his tips often. Thanks for bringing up the political climate question. Even though I live in a blue state I am shocked at the amount of "conservative" men I see on apps. So glad to hear Anwar confirm what I was already suspecting and that I wasn't just overthinking/assuming! LOL 😂 Thanks for being you, Les! 🫶🏽
