Sorry but Im using an Ignitor electronic points set up (Pertronix) in a Rover P5 on a 25D6 distributor and the Tacho works fine.

interesting videos....but annoyng camera out of focus and messy workbench, not sure why you wouldn't use a clean bench for your videos?

Surely you were joking when you said it was made by Texas Instruments? Other than maybe a couple of US made components (Callins brand electrolytic, and Erie Tech calibration pot) that Tach is completely British including the Mullard transistors. And you are right, that is no way to solder, or paint for that matter! Thanks anyway for the video.

The original capacitors in these units where Hunts Axial Electrolytic ( 100mmf) and Hunts Moldseal for the 0.47mmf. A.H. HUNT LTD, were based in Wandsworth, London. There is no way that Texas Instruments would have used English parts like the Hunts caps and the Mullard Transistors. The Texas Instruments attribution is simply wrong. Smiths Instruments in England made Smith Instruments.
