I like how Prince "warms up" through interviews. He always starts very quiet, softly spoken, calm, monotone, then later on he opens up, becomes more lively, more smiles, his voices becomes louder and more expressive. Having an interviewer that he really likes helps with this a lot! What an absolute legend Prince is. We are so lucky to have interviews like this available.

Prince and MJ, two of the smartest people to EVER walk into the music industry
@Aspasia292924 күн бұрын
And two of the MOST talented by far! However, I love MJ, my first album was the Jackson 5 and he was my first crush, and they were both child prodigies, but Prince didn’t have the might of Motown behind him. Prince had to do it all himself, he taught himself to play multiple instruments, he and Jimmy Page are neck and neck for GOAT guitarist. He almost never covers other people’s, unless they’re iconic songs. I could go on and on, so Prince is a musical genius, in the vein of Mozart, and I doubt Mozart worked as har. Thank you sweet Prince for all you’ve given to to the world!

I miss him so much it hurts. To me? Real music died with him. There will never ever ever be anyone like Prince who did what he did. Who thought of us as his family and loved us as much as we love him. He taught us it was ok to be different and break the rules. To go at something with everything we have inside. All of us have some type of talent. I am so thankful, grateful and humbled to have been on stage with our musical iconic genius. Wrapped in his arms and pulled tightly to his chest. He smelled like lavender and musky male. When we pulled back, he looked directly into my eyes and as much as it made me squirm as It felt he could see right into me? I wanted to jump into and swim in his warm and wide dark eyes. He patted my bottom as he still had me around the waist. I remember thinking, he speaks with his eyes.. He grabbed a hold of my hand and proceeded to drag me around stage like a rag doll. It was my birthday and he saw the sign above my head from my friend behind me. I was was lifted up on my other friends shoulders as I am quite short. Security saw and I was terrified from recent trauma and I heard someone yelling "Hey Birthday Girl!" I turned to look and it was Prince! He had my friend move to where he was at and Prince grabbed me and yanked me so hard that I ended up slamming into him and we both almost went over and that is how I ended up wrapped in his arms! When he walked me back to go off stage, he whispered in my ear, that there are no birthdays and no aging to worry about. That time didn't exist. Gave me another one of those long knowing stares, this time a serious one. Kissed my hand and my face and nudged me back off stage. A night I will never forget.

I was thinking the same. He rarely laughed in front of camera so loud, directly from his heart. You can see genuine heart in his laugh, I don't know..there is some goodness and even tenderness which was often covered by his seriousness used for the public eye. Hearing this laugh seemed as a moment he let go of ,,the mask'' when unconsciously giving to us a glimpse of relaxed, more innocent and sweet part of himself.💜🌟

There are plenty of times that Prince has shown his comedic side. He appeared several times on the Jay Leno Show. Prince and Jay kept playing pranks on one another. Prince even pretended to be a repairman who came to fix Jay's chair. Prince appeared on The Muppets Show. In one funny skit Prince was dressed like a farmer and was talking and singing a funny song with a country accent about cows. In the same show he sung his song Starfish and Coffee.Which was also a funny light hearted song. Then there's also a video on one of his songs from his Emancipation album called "Face Down". Its a humorous song and he's making funny faces in the video. Then there was the movie "Under The Cherry Moon". Prince had some funny scenes in that as well. In of his concerts he light heartly making jokes about one of the musicians in his band.

I don't believe to this day that Prince took and overdose. I truly believe those pills with major amounts of fentanyl was a set up. I truly believe he was dooped intentionally with those pills. Make it make sense!!! If he was taking pain meds for the pain in his hip, I'm assuming his physician subscribed them first. Prince was a smart man and its on film Prince going inside the doctor office and he wrote a prescription for 15 pain killer, and the next day he's dead from an overdose of fentanyl. So was the fentanyl in the 15 the doctor prescribed. 🤔 I don't feel Prince took 15 pills in that short period of time, and then started taking the pills that caused his death. So he took pills from the street pain killer, and not the ones from the pharmacy. Make it Make sense!!! It just seems a bit shady to me. RIP!!! Money and the abuse of power🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔Make you think. Prince was way too self conscious about his health to be taking drugs "from street" Pharmaceutical. It's just unbelievable 😳. He was moved out the way, because he was on his shit when it came to his music rights.

@@fabianboesch96 prescription pills "murdered" Prince. His addiction was well known to those close to him. They have video...of him...at the pharmacy in Minneapolis picking up the pills that ultimately killed him. Prince will always be my favorite musician of all time. I can't believe we were so blessed to have had this incredibly talented brilliant intelligent man when we did on this Earth. The day he died I was in so much grief of losing this amazing genius when we did. Growing up back in the eighties I was teased so much for being a shy timid small girl. Prince taught me so much that it was alright to be myself and I didn't have to be anyone else but me. I always loved music and all kinds of music from rock, funk, jazz, blues, soul, r&b, rap, hip hop, dance, electronica, punk, new wave, metal, alternative and classical. Prince could play almost every genre of music and play every instrument put into his hands. Seeing him in concert the couple of times I did was like a religious experience. I grew up in a very strict Roman Catholic environment, going to Mass every Sunday with my daddy but I never felt the closeness to the God center as when I was listening to his music or seeing this genius in concert. We are never going to get another visionary genius like Prince for a very long time to come. In all my pain of losing my parents early, going though my rough teenage years and my mom being severely mentally ill. Prince's music healed me so much emotionally and mentally. For all of this, I know the greatest music genius in my humble opinion is with God and blessing God's Kingdom with the incredible music he gifted this world with. For this I will always love Prince.

I swear to the Lord I can't believe this wonderful man is gone he is a true icon I started listening to music back in the 50s and I love so many different types of music and it's so sad to lose many many top rated musicians for such silly reasons which I cannot understand so all I can think is God wanted them more than we did on this Earth I lost my wife of 26 years due to a doctor and if I didn't have music to soothe my soul I think I would have been gone too God bless all good people on this Earth in Jesus name amen

The part he basically said about his dad being hard to impress and that helped him be better, that may work for him, but a lot of times I think kids and people in general, may need more encouraging and positive feedback than tough talk etc.
@dl2310 Жыл бұрын
I think he needed that too. Maybe in the form of talk therapy. I think anyone who has an addiction of any kind has tough emotional wounds usually from childhood. We have to turn to the God of all comfort with our pain as well as practical help toward healing. Speaking from experience, it is unfamiliar for us to turn to God when we hurt. We want immediate relief because the pain is so deep. I think that's why Prince kept going back to the pain pills. He already had Jesus and also could have used therapy to talk it out in confidentiality. Our parents have done things that permanently scar us and that pain is real.

I think it works only with someone who you really admire like mj and prince admire each other and basically the "fued" made them work better

You make it (guitar) look effortless whilst playing such complex riffs! At 2004 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame he played with epic rock guitarist Tom Petty and Steve Winwood and EVERY post is about Prince’s mind blowing solo!

Love ❤️ this interview. He is the ultimate creative. The ultimate teacher and motivator. I agree he is head and shoulders above. Very thoughtful. He learns visually. So driven. Ohhhh my gosh…creating your own universe. Love. So many things… so on point.

Thank God we have those amazing personal “real” interviews with interviewers such as Tavis !!! I still can not believe he’s gone !! He passed the day before my 40 yr old niece, our last conversation was mourning Prince !! They both died of fent, and I’d bet money neither would’ve EVER touched anything that had to do with it. Horrible sadness!!!

The BEST interview with Prince. I live in Minneapolis and have seen him perform many times since the 80's and have met him twice. He's been so far ahead of the time with his experience in business and music ... he has always been ahead of time in sexual assumptions and protecting intellectual property. Artists of all kinds owe a debt of gratitude for his successful efforts getting control again of original ideas.

One of my first passons in life was music. It saddens me that such a talent is gone. It happens to all of us at some point but damn, damn, damn. Pretty selfish of me to feel this way but it is what it is. Music gives me life.

Prince even gave his music to other artists. He cared for so many other's. He become a perfectionist from his dad's parental instruction. He became better than his dad's talent. 💜☔
