Sunrazor is an amazing pre-raid tank weapon. DPS is higher than other options and if you have Infinite rage the heroic strike spam is huge. Fire res is nice for MC and Black Rock dungeons. Dwarven canon also pre-raid bis option for hunter. Stokades Pauldrons not worth buying if you're a warrior. Flurry axe on a rogue? Do they get it in SoD? The biggest wtf moments I had in the vid. I did like the idea though.

I recognize the dagger is decent for warrior tanks but relative to other available options that don't cost hundreds of gold, it doesn't stand out dramatically so, at least to me. But hey, I'm human. @27toten it isn't 'decent' for warriors. It's pre raid bis. Best in slot rofl. Fury prot it's significantly better than quel serrar. Why would gold cost make it a low tier item? You have edgmasters s tier. As it should be. Its just as expensive if not more.

I also think that saying axe of the deep woods is bad for tanks is missing some nuance. It's not great in a raid situation, where you've got tons and tons of rage, but for leveling and dungeons, the slow speed doesn't really matter, since you're not using heroic strike or cleave much while 1handing.

For the most part I agree with this list, but I want to point out how some of these items do actually have legitimate use cases. 1. Hammer of the Northern Wind is BIS for Humans against Viscidus. Due to their racial ability and the very high proc rate of this weapon, it turns out to be a better option than the fabled Coldrage Dagger. For other races the dagger is marginally better, but honestly if you're a lazy bastard, you could just buy this and you wouldn't hurt the raid. 2. Lei of Lilies is an item every single class in the game should buy. It's essentially a BETTER version of Night Dragon's Breath every hour! You just equip this thing, conjure the root and unequip the necklace, and you've got yourself a consumable that restores an average of 600 Health/Mana -- without sharing a cooldown with your potions! I can't even count the number of times this thing has saved not just me, but my groups and raids from wiping. 3. Lifestone is something I often pick up for my alts and just carry in my bags for trinket swapping. What I love about it is that you can actually use it in feral forms without shifting out, which makes it a very useful trinket for Druids, but also a great situational piece to pre-equip for tough fights. After all, if it restores an average of 500 Health, you could think of it as a situational +50 Stamina trinket. 4. Alcor's Sunrazor is literally the BEST TPS weapon for various tanking encounters, namely Vaelastrasz. If you have a pumper group and your tank isn't generating threat, you're gonna have a bad time. 5. Hand of Edward the Odd is also wonderful for Paladins. Also, it doesn't just make Hearthstone casts instant.. But also flag captures in AB/AV, door openings (like in SM), herb loots (instant Black Lotuses ftw). This thing is just insane for both factions -- especially in PvP. You just need a good WA to notice the proc. Paladins also like to use this while AOE farming, because they simply couldn't otherwise heal themselves with 50+ mobs on their butts. And some items are complete crap.. Like come on, Ardent Custodian in A tier? Stockade Pauldrons are meh. Elemental Mage Staff is also crap, especially considering green level 55 staves can give you +37 damage.

Hurricane is actually insane. Highest Speed/DPS bow in the game. The knockback when trying to cast a spell is fucking insurmountable even w/o a pet. Then when you do add in Brokentooth it is impossible to even think about finish a cast-time.

This is probably the biggest reason I love classic and dislike the expansions. Items were so wild, you could get a super strong item from the most random place ever. Older items remained strong in higher raiding tiers. And above all, the blue and epic BoE's often has weird abilities instead of being stat sticks.

Edgemasters reduce the penalty to glancing blow damage which comes out to like a 14% increase in dps.

It's not 14% lol. The glanding penalty goes from 35% at 0 skill to 14% at 5 skill. Maybe you confused the numbers.

@@abrvalg321 Edgemasters boosts abilities by 3% hit, and white attacks by 3% hit +reduced glancing blow chance, and reduced glancing blow penalty. The value that they give is actually reduced as you get gear, as more and more of your attacks become abilithies, through heroic strike/cleave. As you eventually begin swimming in excess +hit% in phase 5&6, it can become worth it for tanks to replace edgies with Gauntlets of Annihilation. Tanks will sometimes not even use an offhand weapon, and still have high heroic strike uptime, making the glancing blow penalty moot, and the big increase in armor and stamina is certainly always welcome. Though, whether you should take them before any DPS without weapon skill is a different question (probably no)

@@haldir108 Man, just look at any logs from classic. Your glancings will do a pitiful damage. And you will get an extra 30% of that. Overall damage you get a 2% boost for playing a human vs non-human. Plus it's hard to get 9% hit only in pre-raid. While in MC/BWL it's ok. And in AQ40/naxx you get too much hit.

Your feedback is valuable to me and I thank you for it. I could have spent more time refining this list to be "perfect", but that was never my intention. I wanted to make a fun comparison video. This was never meant to be perfectly accurate. Teir list videos will always have controversy based on perspective. With that said, I've learned much from the comments posted here and will use this information to create better content going forward :)

I get it, you like WoW and want to make content, maybe make some money off of it, that’s perfectly fine, but first you need to spend a lot more time playing off the beaten path, not just log on for raid night and watching madseason.

It's about Classic being a much more in depth game for a lot of people; there's far far more to the game than racing to level 60 and raiding. You can't think of a single reason anyone would possibly use Dazzling Longsword? A level 39 twink robbing rouges of their ability to vanish is HUGE. Of course, when it procs that is. That's why is has a fast attack speed. When it does proc, it will save your life.

Honestly the 39 epic 2h sword nightblade should be A or B tier. Sure it's a fast weapon, but for my warr, that just meant more rage, and more sword spec/shadow bolt procs! Trust me, that shadow bolt hits like a TRUCK, I'd damn near 2 shot people my level if I mortal striked them and got a shadow bolt proc or 2. 💪💪🧨⚰️ If you don't believe me grab it and throw a crusader or +9 weapon damage enchant on it(2nd choice if you're not FULL of money), and see for yourself. The thing is dirt cheap compared to most epics.

Lei of lilies is a niche use item in hardcore raiding. You can for example precast a Lilie 20-30m before Naxramas speedrun and pop another one 30-40m into the run. Those ~650 stats could mean an important burst of 2-3 flash heals or could save you from death.

Back in 2005-6 on my Dwarf hunter in only quest/dungeon blues, the DHC I got made me feel like a big baller. It was replaced with a crossbow as pre-raid BiS and then the epic leaf/sinew quest out of MC, but it still felt nice back in the day. Vanilla itemization has far more quirkiness and charisma than modern retail WoW.

I think you are making a too strict try-hard endgame approach. Most of the D-C tier items are better than how you picutre them. For instance the Eye of Flame is very strong for a fire mage when you are not in MC/Ony, and most weapons are good simply due to the dps advantage compared to any blue or green weapons for the same level.

Freezing band on A is crazy. First of all is 21 more than 18 from maidens circle, and second of all you will be wearing freezing band until u not only get 1 mc ring (33spell), but ONLY when getting TWO of those mc rings you will replace freezing band as a mage, making it easily one of the most desirable items on this list, maybe only beaten by edgemasters

Being a frostmage, especially in HC, you will probably wear a freezing band for multiple phases long after mc unless youre heavily favored in loot above other casters

Freezing band is a whopping +3 spell power at the cost of hundreds of gold + 7int/6spirit. Yes it's pre-raid BIS, but it's not dramatically better than other cheaper alternatives for its price tag.

Flurry Axe: Rogues can't use axes in classic and secondly the proc is essentially a parry haste attack in that it eliminates your backswing, and due to the randomness of the proc it will often be partly wasted. Good weapon, not S+ tier but low S for sure.

You make some valid points! An extra attack does not guarentee extra damage, it's subjected to miss, block, parry, dodge. I still think the proc is vastly better than almost anything available until 60. Thrasher blade is a free alternative of course, if your class can weild swords.

You're wrong about a few of these but I only felt obliged to comment on Freezing Band. Very OP item for its effect. Its freezing effect does not break on damage like freezing trap, which makes it insane for AOE farming (WoW Hobbs proved this) and provides amazing survivability. Solid "A" item for sure. Otherwise, great video and item breakdowns.

Blackskull Shield is a remnant of the Buckler/Shield system that was in before Vanilla launched. It has some impressive stats when taken into account that Bucklers could be worn by Hunters and Rogues, but offered less in terms of raw armor than shields of equal level.

Lei of Lilies is BiS for spirit set for Warrs/Rogues. It gives you a free nerfed healthstone to boot. Same w/ Lifestone BiS for Spirit Out of combat regen set. Same w/ Ring of Saviors.

iv been running dazzling long sword on my prot palla in anniversary since lvl 36. its proc is amazing and procs constantly and causes threat. with fiery enchant iv still yet to replace it at lvl 45

I love the tier list man but some of these you should have moved up because of the level the gut ripper is amazing at that level 40 if your base and everything off a 60 of course it's not. But since you arent you need to readjust your tier list. Anyways glad I found your channel really enjoying your content

Yes. Only argument I can think of against equipping this on a Priest is that Shadow is strictly a leveling spec in classic so it's only truly useful in the short term until you reach max level.

I brain dead forgot Shadow Priests were a thing and should have mentioned them. Band of the Unicorn has 13 SP at lvl 43 and will cost you an absolute fraction of the price of this ring. If 10 stam / 6 spirit and 1 dmg is worth the extra 30-100g, absolutely Underworld Band is better. I just don't think those stats are worth the extra price tag, especially when it's easily replaced at 60.

Just say you’ve never used the Dazzling Longsword… It procs so often. Great leveling weap. I use it until Thrash Blade whenever I level a warrior.

Well leveling these weapons with the chance to deal damage are FAR MORE SUPERIOR then weapons with stats the fact is if you do the math lets say you have a warrior and you have a weapon with +20 Str the 20str doesnt really make a diff on your mob killing speed like instead of taking 9 swings per average kill 20 str might make it 8.5 swings atleas tthe chance on dmg procs go off and give you a boost to leveling speed its same with why agi is so good leveling because atleast random crits out weigh gaining very little to kill speeds (But ya for like BiS for any phase there all lacking aside from like edgemasters)

Lei of Lilies conjures the best on use consumable for restoring both health and mana simultaneously on its shared cooldown. It is BiS for certain classes on Sapphiron or certain PvP scenarios. So basically every min/maxing warlock, mage, priest, druid, shaman, paladin and hunter wants one of these. Alcor's Sunrazor is top tier for threat due to the fast speed. Fire damage is also useful for warlocks. If you have a tank that can hold threat searing pain can deal some serious damage and compete with your standard DS ruin spec. Although this is more of an ultra end game super sweaty speed run Naxx scenario and you'd probably want 6 piece t3 for the threat reduction thus ultimately making eye of flame useless. You forgot to mention fiery war axe is top tier for an enhancement shaman leveling. Shadowblade might actually be a DPS loss in raids if you're using up charges on a warlock's improved shadow bolt proc, similar to gutgore ripper. Axe of the deep woods is pre-raid orc warrior BiS. Maybe deserves one more tier up? Underworld band is not useful for one class. It's useful for two. Most priests who are leveling will be shadow and it's also BiS for twinks of that level bracket. Corehound belt dunks on sash of mercy but I don't believe that's available until phase 3. But it's important to know about that considering it's the highest +healing belt in the game. Rogues can't use axes. Flurry axe cannot be used by rogues. Edgemaster's handguards is THE best BoE epic in the game. It's the only one you'll be wearing as a full BiS warrior in Naxxramas. Elemental mage staff is not an S tier epic. It's not that good. It's an ok starter weapon for mages at 60. It's definitely not in the same category as edgmaster's handguards. Staff of Jordan S tier? A leveling/twink weapon is S tier? Elemental mage staff is literally better than that. Teebu's is literal trash relative to much more easily obtainable MC weapons, but you are correct that the fact it's on the box makes it S tier. I'll give you that one.

cloak of flames. i can't believe i forgot to include the footage for that, nice catch. i basically stated that it was a unique cloak belonging to a family of items that reflect damage on hit. it's useful for aoe farming as a paladin, but that's about it.

I will say that bloodrazor is a legit MH weapon for a rogue from level 40-60. I would put it higher value than most of those other items in C tier, I'd maybe even bump it up to B tier.

Wouldn't Hand of Edward the Odd actually be pretty useful in Hardcore? If a dungeon pull goes bad, people tend to roach out for a minute waiting for a ghetto hearth. But you can equip it during combat and then fish for the proc to insta hearth out of there.

warden staff is not good for feral tank since youre gonna be using pummelers always when you're tanking and even on trash any good 2h mace with a counterweight is better than warden staff

Besides there is the Unyielding Maul which is almost the same and easier to get. Nevertheless when I raid tanked with feral druid I didn't use the pummeler very often because it is a pain in the ass to farm. I used the Blessed Qiraji War Hammer which is pretty damn good. Counterwieights are irrelevant because shape shifted animal forms have fix attack speed regardless of the weapon's.
