Partially. I would say it always starts with ignorance. How do you control yourself when you dont know it is something that needs to be taken under control? When you dont know how easily it can grow out of control? Those stats continuously skewed very young. It just doesnt sound quite right to me to think children should automatically know better and just have a self control problem. For adults, yeah. Because at that point you know. But even then, the ignorance might lay in not knowing any other coping mechanisms, which is an ignorance problem.

Awareness really does help. I never got into smoking or drinking alcohol because during my childhood and teenage years. I was always receptive to advice and all the evidence of the harmful effects of substance that would be smoked or drank. I have the full conviction that if everyone was just as open to tell me how harmful adult content was for me as a kid I think I also wouldn't have gotten into it. I'm a 23 male and my parents drink every Sunday, my cousins smoke weed and hooka on the daily.

I got addicted to it at age 10 my friend showed me it and i was genuinely scared of it to the point that as a 10 year old i read online articles arguing about the effects of it and if it was bad for you or not and quite literally most the articles i read were telling me it was normal and healthy and had no known side effects aside from like 2 unpopular study's so i kept watching it until it was a routine mind you i was FUCKING 10 and this carried all the way out until i was 17 when quarantine happened it made it worse like i started fantasizing about weirder and weirder stuff to chase a new high until the day i was disgusted at what i had just masterbated to this was around when self improvement KZbin was trending thank god i came across dopamine detoxing and shit like that its still a scar to this day i felt all of the negatives from porn addiction mentally and physically and relationship wise it ruined my fuckin life and gen alpha is worse believe me
