This was my first "custom" mechanical board. I bought it because it sounds great stock and because I could mess around and learn about switches, caps and mods easily and inexpensively. It has been great as a beginner project. I've moved on to barebones kits and building my own now, but the Aula got me there. Highly recommended for people in similar situations.

I've had the F75 for some time and it's absolutely amazing, my favourite keyboard I have. I also own some premium keebs too, like a Keychron Q6 Pro, Q9, Q3 and a Q0, and the F75 is my favourite. I loved it so much that I got the F65 and today I ordered the F99. These keyboards are so good they have completely ruined my perception of budget.

My first mechanical keyboard was the infamous redragon k552, at that time i didn't know i was keyboard enthusiast until i moded that one... Then i really considered buying a true entry mechanical keyboard so i went to Aliexpress and found aula f75, k86, AK820, akko 5075b plus ( drac)... At first i thought k86 will be my best choice because of the pricing but the lack of reviews at that time let me stay away from it, so i got left with f75, AK820 and akko, AK820 was slightly cheaper and i actually decided to go for it so i waiter for the sale event... And that waiting was one of the best thing i did where i found akko 5075b plus at a price of 50$ which is basically like f75 at that time (screen version ) Never been happy and i really sniped a deal there , akko has some decent budget keyboards and switches...

is the F99 same as the F75 in terms of the switches, construction and overall sound?
@wilczur335
@wilczur335 12 күн бұрын
@@its.inframe Well both my L99 and L65 have the Greywood V3s and they sound a bit different. The F65 sounds more thocky while the F99 sounds in between thocky and poppy. The F75 with Reapers just sounds poppy. So I guess the size (and construction underneath) plays a role in how the keyboard sounds. It's not a jarring difference, but it is noticable. The same built quality, same materials, same aesthetic queues (like the little step around the bezel) between the 3. I think they also have the same amount of sound padding - which is a lot (I think the same as my £150-200 premium Keychrons). My Yunzii YZ68 that cost me £90 has basically no sound dampening at all, I did DIY some foam (from the box) and tape on the inside but the difference is very small. Nice little keyboard but honestly after these AULAs it just feels like a rip-off. Overall, would not recommend over any of the 3 AULA keebs. If you hold FN+B, the numbers light up correspondingly to your battery's %, so 1 for 10% and 9 for 90%, which I think is really cool. Not sure what the line light is supposed to be, I thought it would just show my battery level, but I think it just glows green, orange or red depending on your battery, although I have not checked because I mostly use wired. My only real complaint about the AULAs is that the software is meh, good enough for most, doesn't really bother me, but far more rudimentary than VIA and it's just a thing I usually like to have and not need than to need and not have. Oh and also they all have separate customising software, so you don't download just one like VIA and all compatible keyboards can be connected through that; you need to individually download 3 different software for the 3 keyboards, which is a bit dumb but like I said, the software is meh and that obviously doesn't really matter if you're buying just one. One of my nitpicks is that the F65 does not have the dedicated caps lock light for some reason, which is a bit disappointing, I'm not a fan of the RGB that just lights up on the key like on most keyboards. I often have to lean over to see if my caps lock is on. Also also, the knob on the F75 feels cheap. Like very light and free-rotary instead of the Keychron's more teethy CLONK-CLONK-CLONK feeling, which I do prefer. But how much can you really shit on keyboards that are this cheap.

I get why people say aluminum is premium but I actually prefer plastic keyboards and PC plates as they sound thockier. Aluminum keebs are super clacky initially until you get the right combination of keycaps, switches and other modifications. They are usually not worth the price point if you're looking for thock, when you can easily modify a cheaper plastic build to sound exactly how you want it.

It's crazy that just a few years ago, a custom keyboard that looks and (probably) feels that good would set you back like $300+ dollars plus hours of modding. While I do admit that modding is the best part of a custom keyboard, it's just insane that something below $100 can be that good now. I bought an RK a couple of years ago for maybe like $50 as a baseline and the cost of my mods was actually more than the keyboard itself and it still doesn't sound as good as the Aula does lol

A lot of criticism for the sake of criticism in this review. I got one of these and trust me since you don't type like an 80 year old who saw a keyboard first time in their life, you don't press the keys so hard that you actually flex the board when you are typing. Not even close. And I am telling you as a man whose hands are bigger and fingers are heavier. And while legends aren't "perfect", little quirks don't necessarily bother and in fact since they aren't exactly same on all boards, it makes yours kind of "unique".

I think she was pretty fair. Ponting out flaws isn't just criticism for the sake of criticism, it's a review, she's supposed to nitpick. I'm sure if you're working with different keyboards day in, day out, it's a different matter though.

Just got mine today. Good news and bad news. Good news, I bought it for only $27 (php conversion as of dec 2024). The bad news, Leobog reaper is freaking heavy to press despite it sounding amazing. The flash deal only have the reaper switches so I might end up spending $15 on alternative switches like Leobog Greywood or Gateron milky red. But as an overall package...holy shit this is gaddam premium. I could not imagine having this well made PC accessory for less than $30. My current redragon keyboard looks and feels absolutely cheap next to it. And I bought that for $45!

F75 is more charming in person. This is one of those products that once you've bought it, you want other people to get it as well, hence the unbelievable amount of good reviews. It's that good at least for beginners and non hobbyists according to the popular ytbers. I've bought this myself in icevein and has since bought other keebs. You just cant help but fall in love with it. It's hard to hate specially since the normal price for this in asia is less than $40 and does more than what other premium keyboards do. It's good enough for gaming and makes you enjoy writing your essays while typing. Im not sure about the issues on the legends but I dont have it with mine. The hotspotty flexing is also not a dealbreaker and could be an advantge depending on how you type. I mostly use this with my tablets so I didnt have to deal with the support software issue but it would be nice to have. If youre willing to hold out a bit more to get alluminum casing it wont be a bad choice either. But if you're not a serious hobbyist and just want a good sounding keyboard with premium typing experience out of the box, maybe just swap out the keys for a different look, you wont regret your purchase.

I have the F99 version in the same colourway as I need my Numpad. It's a good budget keyboard for people like me who just want a nice typing experience (feel and sound) out of the box and who can't be bothered to open it up to mod the innards. However, similar to quite a few other brands of pre-built budget keyboards, they only come with linear switch choices. So I knew before getting it that I was going to change to tactile switches. I gave the Reaper switches a go, and they are nice and smooth, but I really need the tactile bump for typing. The keycaps in my F99 didn't have the strange fonts you mentioned so they looked respectable, though not the best. Eventually I changed to shine through keycaps as I sometimes type in the dark. I confirm that some of the switches along the edges get pulled out along with the keycaps, but it's not a big deal unless you change keycaps often. My main complaint is the location of the Page up and Page down keys which are in the top right corner. I miss having them close to the arrow keys like in 100% size keyboards, as navigation is a little inconvenient. I have just discovered that the Leobog Hi98 has the navigation key layout I want and it's aluminium too. Annoyingly it comes with linear switches only. Am holding off on getting it. It's a waste to buy prebuilt and get linear switches that I never use. Looking to get a barebones 1800 kit with the layout , specs and price that I want. There are fewer choices than for smaller size formats, but I can be patient. Things move fast in the mechanical keyboard industry.

That's the reason I went with the Akko 5075B Plus since it had a choice of tactile switches (Akko V3 Cream Blue Pro) It sounds alright stock, much better than previous stock boards I've had. With my Epomaker SK61 I opened it up and did a few mods since it was relatively easy to get inside but from all the tear downs I've seen on KZbin the gasket mount 75%'s like the F75 or 5075b they're very difficult to get inside because there are no screws and you need to pry it open and I really don't fancy damaging my new keyboard.

@@iitzfizz I did get the Akko V3 Cream Blue tactiles for my F99. Unfortunately, now that I know more about where I want the Page Up and Down keys in my 1800-form keyboards, I have to say that Akko's 1800 layout doesn't cut it for me. There is a plastic case barebones kit that satisfies my criteria, but I'm waiting until the new year to see if a similar product in aluminium is released.

Also I am using RK84 it is also plastic but its with me for almost a year and doesn't encounter any problems. The product speaks for itself that is popular because it offers more than the mainstream one, plus its cheap. Id rather had more reviews to that product than buying something expensive and I'm not satisfied with.

I was in the market for a decent budget 75% keeb and I was weighing up between this and the Akko 5075B Plus and I ended up settling on the Akko because it had an option of tactile switches (the V3 Cream Blue Pro's). Wondering if I made the right decision.

I dont much know about custom keyboards so it is perfect for me. For all the people that dont want to make their own keyboard it is perfect out of the box !

Spending 20 bucks more buys you an aluminum case keyboard. If you only go for the cheaper plastic one because it is cheaper (and not because it is lighter or because it can sound more thocky after modding) than I fail to understand. A mechanical keyboard lasts a very long time, so why skimp on 20 bucks when it can buy you something nicer? People are willing to spend more than a thousand bucks for te latest iPhone every one to two years, but think that a 100 dollar keyboard is a rip-off?

@@nout1972These are identical to Aula except alu frame. Aula can be found on discounts as low as 30$ (i bought mine for 29$ to be precise), so comparing 30-40$ keeb to exact same keeb, just with alu frame costing 2.5x higher is funny.
