So good to see these individual items and how you have dealt with them in your own life. On top of the sugar and fat that make the addictiveness, the chemicals/preservatives in these foods are atrocious!

Okay a few things…raw cookie dough🙋♀️, cheese>👑, how can something so dry (goldfish) leave those oil spots when left on paper??? And if I remember correctly, there was a chip ad campaign that said “once you pop you can’t stop” which is quite possibly the one time junk food marketing was honest, telling you they knew you wouldn’t be able to stop eating them!!! Thanks for info and swaps Autumn!!

This morning I had an hour to wait for something, and my first thought was: I hope Autumn has a new video out 😂. I've seen that the less ultra and highly processed foods i eat, the better i feel and more control i have to not over eat! Msg/ yeast extract and the 10 other forms of msg need to be outlawed in the states in my humble opinion. Then other excitotoxins, ideally. Money over citizen's health.

Autumn, I love your content, I've been following you for about 2 years now. You're information has helped me to achieve much better health at 60 years of age. However, in so many of your videos you are speaking so fast I can barely understand anymore. I mean no disrespect, but some of us who are speech- hearing impaired might appreciate a slower pace. I hope you will consider this so I, and possibly others, will continue to follow. Best wishes and Happy Holidays 🎉

Question- what do you do for children who will ONLY (literally) eat vanilla yogurt, nuggets (microwaved not air fried), cheerios, grilled cheese?
@strangecobra9454Ай бұрын
I'm not a nutritionist, but I enjoy cooking. The guaranteed taste and texture of ultra processed foods is a huge reason why a lot of kids get "stuck" on them, especially if the kids are picky or have sensory issues. You could probably swap homemade versions for most of the foods on the list, but not the Cheerios. For homemade vanilla yogurt, get a super high fat (6% milk fat or higher) Balkan or Greek-style yogurt and add vanilla bean paste/vanilla extract and a bit of liquid honey, and mix together. Slowly reduce the amount of honey each time - this type of yogurt is so creamy and fatty it tastes sweet naturally, but their palates will need time to adjust. For nuggets, make homemade chicken tenders with homemade bread crumbs (from quality minimal-ingredient bread/homemade bread), air fry or bake, then microwave to mimic the texture they like. Or let them try them out fresh from the oven. Grilled cheese can be healthy if you're making it with a homemade sandwich bread and a higher quality melty cheese, like sliced provolone, havarti, or mozzarella (not the shredded kind in a bag). Not quite sure what to do about the Cheerios, which is exactly why they're an ultra-processed food! Can't easily be made at home with normal ingredients.

@@strangecobra9454 I really appreciate you taking time to offer these suggestions. I just have to find a way to make this happen from 900 miles away ;) But will start experimenting here at home!!! Thanks

You say no. I have 3 kids 5 and under. Just say no and say you are the boss...not they. You don't need their opinion. Make the food...put it on their plate.

As far as the bagels are concerned, you said swap it for sourdough toast with 30 grams of protein. For breakfast, what would that look like? I dont know what u meant by bread with 30 grams of protein….😢
@joyce10309Ай бұрын
Maybe a omelet with 3 eggs, cheese and some ham. If you use 3 eggs, and 1.5 oz of a sharp cheddar you would be around 27 g protein. Add some ham in and your at or above 30g.

@jchall2062Ай бұрын
Get an air fryer! Amazing what you can do with it . I never use my oven in summer.
Here in 🦘🦘🇦🇺 we are also taught to read the ingredients list in order of what is the highest concentration of an ingredient to the lowest. Ie: from 1st to last. So whatever is named first is the dominant ingredient. Goes for all products not just food. Eg:- if you read the ingredient panel for most cleaners, you’ll find the first ingredient is usually water 🤷♀️
