I believe Don was more smart than a normal infected bc he was infected directly from his wire, a carrier only. You can tell, bc as they fire bombed the city, Don was literally hiding from the fire. He was also seemingly stalking his kids, as you saw him there and disappear as well as find them in the subway.
@MaMastoast3 сағат бұрын
Maybe the intelligence of the infected is somehow tied to their general feeling of purpose. Don's turn, as you said, is very personal and directly ties him to "finding his kids".. maybe that kind of emotion helps the brain keep focus even when under the effects of the virus. If I recall correctly, the dad in the first movie is able to resist the virus for slightly longer than usual, fearing for his daughters life.

This movie always surprises me how many people think Don is awful for the opening. This scenario is like your wife falling out of a plane. It's 100 % death if you "help" by jumping out after her. Plus, you have kids you need to get back to
@MaMastoast2 сағат бұрын
not entirely.. more like.. your wife is falling out of a plane.. you have 5% chance of doing some insane stunt to save her and 95% chance that the stunt will fail, killing your both... It is extremely likely that attempted to save his wife would've gotten them both killed, but its that lingering uncertainty that makes the character's struggle feel real and earned. But yea, obviously it's silly to blame him.

No joke before this kill count was announce I think I gaslit myself into thinking that y’all already made this because 28 days later was already made
@technetium96535 сағат бұрын
they should've made a 28 months later, and a prequel 28 hours later
@axelnilsson5124Сағат бұрын
Shouldn’t the prequel been 28 days earlier?
@brandibastian41932 сағат бұрын
Technically no movie will ever be able to touch the kill count of cabin in the Woods because it was literally all of humanity
@axelnilsson5124Сағат бұрын
But that happened beyond the movie’s timeframe so the movie ended with a giant hand grabbing the camera not the end of the world
@jimmyb5025Сағат бұрын
He didn't count that, though

Don's wife got herself killed by trying to play hero and save a "child", she put the child before her own safety, Don's safety and every single person that died there. That's what I love about this scene aswell. She tried to play hero, what was the consequences? Everything. The film teaches you early on what can and will get you killed, that this isn't no game and is a real life situation for them.. You will need to know when to cut your losses, when to accept you are useless and can only run. Only time Don tried to actually play hero was with his friend on the boat and even that made perfect sense, as he could've easily got back in the boat.. But Don still knew when to cut his losses. The same people who criticise Don for doing what he did, are the same people who would I think die first if a real Zombie/Rage Virus were to happen.
