On Hotd, Shaun does have a point about it being a good episode but not a great finale but i think there is some missing context which I'm not sure if you're aware of or not. HBO, due to their $10b financial losses, decided to cut the season from 10 episodes to 8. This is not what the writers wanted. On top of this the writers strike happened which presumably means there wasn't time to rewrite the 10 episodes into 8 with a satisfying finale. What you see is essentially an episode 8 which sets up amazingly for an episode 9. One can imagine season 3 is going to be all out total war, but having one or two major events being pushed back a season will in itself cause its own problems, but overall I'm still hopeful and I really hope the writers get the episodes they think they need for season 3, whether that's 8 or 10.

The fact that some Unionists in Northern Ireland are upset about signs being in both Irish and English in the region and see it as purely political is why the film Kneecap is important. I was genuinely surprised to hear you'd seen it 😅

I agree with Shaun, the HOTD finale felt flat. It wasn’t that it was a bad episode but with such short seasons, and such a long time between each season, I feel like they could have given the viewers a bit more. I don’t even care if that would go against the book, because even though you’re trying to stay loyal to the source material, you are also trying to make a tv show that flows, and engages the viewer. That’s your job to adapt the material to make an exciting TV show, even if it means shuffling things around.

When watching Trap, please do so with the lowest of expectations. That movie really let me down, which is a damn shame considering the potential of such a plot

I think it should've been episode 8, there just also should've been an episode 9 and 10. They pushed a big battle back from the end of this season to the start of the next one, I'm not sure if it was a studio or showrunner decision, and I think I know why they did it based on what happens in that battle, but I personally disagree with them. Still thought it was a good season and a good episode. Only thing is next season should have a lot of action if they do stick to 4 seasons, it will mean more now we've got this extra time with the characters compared to if we rushed into it this season. I'm sort of in the middle of it all, I think this way will make a better experience when going back and watching the whole thing together, but as a fan watching it right now and having to wait 2 years, it's a little bit disappointing. And I do mean a little bit, it's not a huge problem.
