Just a short update on the shop. Got the z's new motor and turbo mounted. Time to built exhaust and everything else now. More to come!

thanks you so much, right now I'm looking into replacement axles and other underbody stuff because mine is very rusty

There aren't to many options available of axle upgrades. Axle choice will all depend on what kind of power you plan to make. I would look at doing polyurethane bushings under neath instead of the factory rubber. Its much cheaper and has a lot better rigid and solid feel to it.

thanks I will, for now making it reliable is my primary objective with for thought into BIG power later on. trying to also get the most bang for my bucks so if some part is more 'performance' oriented and I need it I'll just go with that.

My plan is to build a dart block 374 stroker and toss it in a 240z when i can find a decent one, should be a monster.

very nice. i would start looking at axle upgrades! The 240z has the r180 with weaker axles than the 280z which has the r200 and still weak axles. My r200 handled my 302 but the axles broke like they were made out of straw

Yea for sure, I saw ne 240z with a sbc V8 and a ford 9" rear end. That'll be bulletproof but lots of fabrication i would assume.

MagZup07nope its tho strongest route you can go and probably the cheapest as far as rearend setups go. The problem is solid axles just don't have the same feel in the z cars as the irs. I will be using a custom made kit using a ford 8.8 irs diff out of an explorer and varies other parts to make it all work. It has been proven to handle over 900 hp

Can you tell me a little about the engine mounts? I'd like to put a 351W in my 280ZX.

The engine mounts are a laine family kit modified for now. I will probably be using the speedway motor universal mounts soon tho to set the engine farther down into the bay. I can't say this will work on a zx as a zx is a s130 chassis and is completely different compared to the 240,260,280z s30 chassis. Just incase you didn't know they where totally different

HS Wilson Thanks! its been a project for sure. Honestly I should have left well enough alone and left the 302/t5 in it haha always a pursuit for more power I guess

hey Jesse, where do you recommend getting big and small s30 parts cause I find some sites here and there but not sure which ones to trust with my money

What parts are you looking for? Most parts I get from Nissan directly. The z store, black dragon, and motorsport auto are all great places to get parts. There are some others out there as well but those are the ones I deal with the most.You will find some stuff is junk yard items only. That's one of the reasons I keep a parts car out back for when I need little things I may not be able to find online.
