The behavior is normal. There is no bug. This is how Xtar VC2 and VC4 works. They do not show the actual charging current but the maximum allowable current. When no batteries are in it shows the maximum: 500mA. When you put in the batteries the current drops because the 5V power supply is no good. Try to put it in a minimum 2.1A wall power supply and it will stay at 500mA. This information is in the manual.

i have a 2.4 brick with voltmeter built-in which says 0amp but the vc2 current indicator shows max 0.5 amp. whatever the condition is, charging or full still the vc2 shows 0.5 amps im starting to think mine is a clone or fake but i have already verified it is legit according to xtar.cc im currently reviving some 0.1v cells right now. but still shows 0v after 2 hrs plugged. some of those cells were dropped in a concrete a meter high fully charged then suddenly went 0v after i dropped them. i wonder how long should i remain those charging

Hi, I have an XTAR VC4 and it behaves in a similar manner... if I switch it on with no cells the current goes to 0.5A and sits there (Full scale on the VC4 is 1A) while the USB current is about 60-70mA. I will do more research on the charger when I get a spare moment. I enjoy watching your videos... Thanks

Hello, I have the same problem. It counts 0.5 A and 0028 mAh, then it says null. What do you suggest I do?

I have this issue with the vc2 plus. It will show a battery 18650 at 56% on the left side when the battery is only at 16% when I take it to the right side.

Autistic Christian Simulator - yes I think the design quality of the GUI could of been better.

how odd, different every time. Pity you cant find out the a-to-d inputs for that measurement and monitor them with a 10meg input resistance dc volt meter.

It's not a bug, but you have to change usb cable with a better one.

Maybe it's needs a pull down resistor, maybe a resistor problem in the circuit. Or a product screaming for redesign HEY FOR THE HACKERS!
