Good morning, Steve! Finally getting to this YT and HOLY CRAP! It is kinda ironic, I found Paul R via You Tube way back when and started following him and he has some of THE BEST athletes out there. But, he also has some dudes.....who do very well. I have learned SO MUCH from both of you. I am an old man (54 years young) but still very active and fit. You two have played a big part in that. Loved the discussion. Even bigger fan of both of you now.... Anyway, gotta go to the gym now (HA! HA!). Cheers across the Pond. Stay healthy!

So much useful information 😀👍. Just wondering, if the low fats might be problematic for hormonal reasons. Eg. 120 lbs/ 55 kg female, at least 120 g carbs, 1 g protein /lbs body weight = 120 g protein. So only 23 g of fat. Or does he also increase fat during refeeds? Any opinions or ideas on this?

I can speak to this very specifically as this is my case at the moment even though I'm reversing into my last show. My fats have been extremely low (unhealthy low) but we brought them back up during my refeeds. Then optimally, I don't want my athletes to go as low as me, unless we really have to, and I also expose the pros and cons and the potential side effects and health consequences. If you're only digging for a few weeks, you can get away with it pretty easily, if you're doing 20g your whole prep.. Your call but definitely not super healthy. - Coach Jess

Great great episode! Steve, I wanted to ask you, is there any rule or measurements you use for female athletes to see if their calories are too low? Are there any specific numbers you wouldn’t go below? Thanks! 🙏🙏

As Steve's colleague AND prep client = you have to go as low as needed to dig if you want to show up in the condition expected for your category. NOW that also means allowing for more time and longer preps to be able to refeed and diet break! - Coach Jess

27:30 good question. I like to go for walks with my fat cat backpack. Wonderman weighs 29.7 lbs and growing… Steve how did you adapt to it? I have bad shoulder pain. Should I stop if it hurts me?
