Putting 285/65r17 on my 22' blue SV, on 17x9 wheels. No clearance issues, no modifying or removing stuff from front bumper. I did do the Z1 leveling kit though, but not because of rubbing.

I think assuming the GPS was correct and the odometer was wrong is a bad assumption. Before you changed the tires the odometer was probably the closer to reality. The important thing to know is that the odometer is taking a mechanical measurement and the GPS can only guess based on periodic estimates from timestamps of a signal from orbiting satellites. There is a lot of room for error in the software the GPS systems use when they try to estimate distances traveled.

Great video, if Nissan marketing had any common sense they would offer a similar wheel and tire upgrade combo similar to what Toyota does with their TRD Pro. I own an SV in grey and am not a fan of the snowflake wheels either, they could at least make black a wheel color option.
@senderbud312 жыл бұрын
They have a black wheel option at the dealer, although you have to ask for it. They don't do a good job of mentioning it. I got lucky, they threw the black ones in with my black '22 SV.

I have a '22 SV, but it had the Pro-X style 17 rims. They have dark grey spokes with a bright machine face finish. They look much better than the standard SV 17's. Mine is cardinal red, so the red, black, metal finish looks good. I have the Tech and Convenience packages. Overall a great mid-size truck. Plenty of power, but the stock Michelin's are road tires, not very useful in the snow.

There have been a number of tests showing a 255/80 is better performing tire than a 285. You will actually have a larger contact patch. 285 is for the looks, 255 with a larger sidewall is for actual use.

@OFFRD I have a 2022 Frontier Pro4X and recently purchased the Nismo off-road leveling kit (1.5 Front and 1 in the rear). I'm looking to buy some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs (285/70/R17) for it but was told by 2 local sources that they would not fit. Seeing that you're running 285 with a 2 inch lift, do you think I would have any issues with the leveling kit on my truck? I heard you acknowledge that some individuals run this setup in stock configuration, but just want to grab your personal impressions and thoughts since it's been a year since you posted this video.

34x10.5x17? Wondering if you could fit that size KO2s on there. Is that rubbing due to the width or tire diameter? Those also range D. Got them on my JK and they just barely rub at full lock also, on the sway bar. Stock, no lift.
@beexiong29952 жыл бұрын
I predict you are gonna take a 2 mpg hit. Stock tires gotta weigh 10 lbs less. Less width less tire. The tread pattern also have a lot more friction If it's leased I dont think you can recalibrate the computer. That could void some agreement in your lease. I would just live with it.

Here's my experience with 285 70R 17 tires on a midsize vehicle. They hard as hell to keep balance and they wear out steering components. LT tires are even worse.

On my 2022 Frontier SV I went with the Yokohama GO-15 Geolander 265 / 70R 17 10 ply in Black walls got a really good deal on used set. It falls somewhere in-between what you have done here with great looks and AW traction. I have the black rims with gun metallic grey paint. I've had Goodyear Duratrac and from experience they lack strong sidewall protection and is their weak point. Been my pet peeve for many years that car manufactures insist on putting on the cheapest tires possible for there product even on the higher end models.
