It sounds so frustrating. It's good to read you are getting a refund. Do not pay return postage costs, the seller has to pay these, even if he stated buyer pays for returns, because he broke the contract by not selling you what you ordered, at the very worst if he refuses eBay will issue you with a printable postage label in this type of case. I suggest you also contact "eBay Trust and Safety Team", the live chat support can refer you over to a member of this team. They are separate from the refund process, they are there to deal with sellers like this.

@Fanta....4 жыл бұрын
It is this exact lock, I'm impressed by the attention to detail in using a lock of high caliber as this one on the show. noticably absent apart from the sidebar on this lock, is the hardened spinning disk plate that sits in between the face of the cylinder and the inside of the opening of the keyway. this prevents drills from being able to effectively drill out the bottom to gain entry. this lock with the correct milspec cylinder and all bits actually present, is an absolute beast. This is the lock i'd want to use if i were storing bulk cash like they were on the show.
@Zodliness7 жыл бұрын
If you got conned, you should get a refund from eBay and retain the lock, they don't normally demand that you return the goods if found to be defective or fraudulent. Always take photos or better still, a video when opening any eBay packages.

Unreal...! Do you think it was one of the Locks that were done for KZbin as a ("Look At Me I Can Pick A Hi-Shear LK-1200")? I hope you get your Hi-Shear LK-1200 in original condition. I own two of them in my collection one from 1982 & 1983 but unfortunately they came with no box or manual but otherwise they are perfect and in fact one of them came with a chain and bracket mount so I was very please with that. Keep up the great work. Nick.

I have one NIB and two with only two keys(1 control and 1 round) but please look at that picture. It needs to have a metal tag not the plastic tags. That is an immediate kicker that its a medeco 833. I filed one down for an S&G 831. its close to impossible to find the black or red letter cores NIB or with all 3 keys and Medeco will not send blanks. Definitely a buyer beware situation. Hope this helps ease future pain.Good luck. Nicholas- If you want the paper (not really a manual) from the box .pdf'd I'd be happy to send it.

Why do you think so much effort went into this (filing down the innards, making custom filed keys, etc)? Is there some motivation? Is the original medeco core worth that much? What do they run for vs. what was paid for the lock on ebay?

What does picking to control mean?
@yvessioui27165 жыл бұрын
That lock has 2 levels, one is the ordinary one (a key to open the aft) and one to extract the core and change or modify it for managerial needs. Picking to control is picking to that second level, which usually ask for picking the previous level too. It is equivalent to 1 or 2 more pins to pick, here the notch at the back of the control key (study the difference between keys at 0m49s)
@bladactania5 жыл бұрын
@@yvessioui2716 - so it's picking to get control of the inner mechanism.
@yvessioui27165 жыл бұрын
@@bladactania Picking is always to control/overcome the inner mechanism. 'Picking to control' is picking to control also the managerial part of that kind of lock, the kind that have an exchangeable core by design.
@Fanta....4 жыл бұрын
Control Key allows quick change of new key cylinder in the event a key is lost. basically to make it easily serviceable in the field. The control key is usually kept in a secure place as a backup key as well.

Hey I want to know would a core cost too much to replace? Or a new better core I dont know anything about locks these look cool though
@yvessioui27165 жыл бұрын
Usually, locks with control level are bought in batch from 1 company or agency. They buy at the same time a certain quantity of replacable cores. Obviously, a core cost less than a whole lock. When a change in the end user happens, or a breach of some sort, the manager has to change only the core and the old one goes in the replacement bucket. Much more effective and space saving than managing a whole box of complete locks, faster to replace... That means also you keep the same visual on your things as if nothing happen. So they don't cost less when buying them, they cost less on long term.

@lockpickinglawyer7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wasn't happy. >:-( But I got my money back, and have since picked up another one. :-) The correct core is very hard to find, and if you do find one, it is very expensive. As for a rotalock, I have one that made its way to me brand new, with a kaba 20 core... but no key. Picking the core took a little while, but I did get it open, and I replaced it with the Ikon R10 (MT5+) from video 250.
