In the novel, Timmy Baterman came back and did similar things that Gus does when he comes back. They can act goofy and still be evil. The wendigo spirit likes to mess with people, so it makes sense that Gus comes back kind of looney and funny at first. He definitely isn't good though, as he eventually kills Drew, Amanda, and Clyde too. He helps Jeff bury Renee, so that they can reign more terror on people. Gus was not good at all when he was alive or undead.

Good point. I also think the wendigo acts a bit smart - notice that the only animal that Jud recalls coming back evil was a bull. The smaller animals didn't act violently, probably because they wouldn't be able to cause much damage, unlike a bull. And since the animal turned out evil just that one time, surely it's safe to revive your pets there, isn't it?

The Windygo likes to invert behavior based on perceptions of the one that did the burial and the actual flesh memories within the corpse. Making this movie more based on notions of the professional/public and the personal/intimate masks. “IE: respected sheriff turns psycho and evil stepfather turns into domestic goofball”. (Notice how he doesn’t go off the rails until the two masks are essentially merged,when gases, personal life leaks over into his professional duties.)

That was my favorite part of this sequel. It's, to date, the only accurate representation of how they behave, stupid and off, according to the novel. Minus the "knowing your secrets" trope, but that's in so many other King stories that I'm not mad about it.

The cops come and think that Ellie went nuts and killed them all, because she was licking the brains off the ax she killed her undead mom with. Then she gets locked up in a mental hospital and later escapes.

In the script that im talking about Rachel and the family are sitting down at the kitchen table. Zombie Ellie have overheard Luis and Rachel in the bathroom of planning to get rid of her.. while the whole family are about to eat they give thanks and then Rachel says she thanks for Ellie to come home. Ellie yells she is a liar. Suddenly the whole kitchen shakes and she makes it look like they are now sitting in the middle of the road. A truck approaches and smashes the dinning table. Ellie kidnaps Gage while luis and Rachel are distracted. Suddenly they realise the kitchen table in the middle of the road and the truck crashing was a delusion. In this script ellies eyes turn black and dirty water pouring out when she is about to kill. She takes gage to the pet sematary and plans to drown him but gage manages to escape.

One of theories is during an off-screen moment, Jeff probably told Gus that he would sacrifice his own friends just to have his mom back, and Gus agrees to arrange that (when we last see Jeff and Drew together, Drew asks "See you at school Monday?" and Jeff replies with "Yeah" sounding sarcastic, like he knew that Drew was going to be dead by then) but unbeknownst to Jeff, Gus had plans of his own which is the reason he brought Clyde back to life, while seeing an opportunity to kill Clyde while at the same time saving Jeff just so Jeff would be alive long enough to bring Renee back, Gus then worked double agent to have Renee kill Marjorie, Gus himself would kill Chase while Clyde kills Jeff, while Gus had his plans for him and Renee to be The Bonnie & Clyde of Ludlow, but the plan backfired when Chase got the upper hand and then Jeff was able to defeat Clyde and Renee knowing her allies were defeated decided to try to talk Jeff into sacrificing himself and Chase only for him not to give in and save his dad and himself

Really it’s a film about duality of Legacy and loss. Because Drew and Jeff were still relatively in the denial stage of their grief. While Chase & Amanda were closer to the acceptance stage ie: accepting any new lovers. The Wendigo inverted the actual personalities of the corpses resurrected :Gus is no longer an asshole domestically, but is now a psychotic sheriff, Renee becomes a territorial psychotic diva and abandons any notion of maternity outside of territorial ownership.

Sooooo.. when this movie came out, I was 11. Rented it on vhs when I was 13, and if you ignore the fact that Stephen King did not write a pet cemetery 2, and it’s more of less tidbits from the original, it was a decent movie for the time. I actually really liked it, ended up buying a copy and it used to be one of my favorite movies. Could have been the pre-teen crush on Edward Furlong though

I saw these movies about the time they came out (both 1 & 2). I remember PS1 being a true horror movie, and when I saw PS2 I remember thinking "They just went bat💩 crazy!" Almost the same way how Highlander 1 was great but pt2 (the REAL not spoken of Highlander) went completely off the rails. I thinking both Pet Cemetery 2 and Highlander 2 hold a special place in my heart as a so bad/crazy it's good type of flick. 👍

I think they should make a Sequel to the Pet Sematary Remake based on Pet Sematary Two with the dog Zowie and characters.. I think it was a great film. 💯

@@donfurcio4080 Right. I don't understand why most people disliked it. Even Stephen King I heard. Lol I just think based on technology now and for the sake of another Sequel to 2019's Pet Sematary that they make one based off Pet Sematary Two. The characters were good and a dog "Zowie" was cool like a wolf and that one scene where it's sitting in the rocking chair eyes glowing red and growling was cool asf.. Let's not forget Clyde and Gus's scene with the dirt bike. Gus stole the movie though hands down. "No brain no pain think about it" and "That's the way the Indians did it." I never new there was a Wendigo demon that was causing everything cause I never read the book but I'm finna do that for sure. 💯

Hey CZ, :) Mayflower was also the name of the HIGH RISE Superstore set in the movie Mirrors, where Keifer Sutherland was hired as a Security guard, at the start of the movie and where hidden rooms were discovered in the basement. I believe they also made a reference to the Store being named Mayflower after the settlers arrived in the North New England territories FROM the Ship named the Mayflower? ALSO, The title Castle of terror on the film clap board could be a reference to Honor WILLIAM CASTLE who directed the film Castle of Terror.
