Hey Czsworld did you realize how in the novel bill as an adult is described as being now bald, having glasses, and even going a bit pudgy but none of the adaptations of IT hold true to this. I mean in the IT miniseries they kept bill having glasses but didn't have him be bald and in fact if you pay attention you can see he has a ponytail.

When you think about all they endured, Eddie's mother doesnt seem so crazy after all. Her fears for her son are actually well founded and rationale. Did she grow up in Derry too? Lost a childhood friend and blocked it out but became a hypochondriac and "worry wart" instead?

The implication in the books is that she lost her marbles after Eddie's father died of cancer. She became so paranoid about losing Eddie that she made him believe he was sick in order to keep him close to her, forbidding him from even harmless things such as hanging out with his friends or attending gym. She was crazy, because based on WHY she treats Eddie this way would lead us to believe she'd have done the same even if they grew up and lived in another town. But her issues, like a lot of people in Derry, don't make her blind that the town has a dark problem. I'm sure that only contributed to the craziness already there. In one chapter, Bev put it into perspective. She said that IT wasn't controlling her father when he snapped, what IT did was manipulate the darkness and problems inside him that were ALREADY there, adding gasoline to an already growing fire.

Late to the party, but here's my personal experience: Saw this movie at the tender age of 4 or 5 and my mother used Pennywise as a way to keep me away from storm drains. To this day I still don't walk directly over storm drains out of the ingrained habit. My mom is a bloody genius.

Hi! Loved the video! The major critique I would mention is that we need to remember that Nixon was vice president between 1953-61, and “you bet your fur” that the photo next to him is the president, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Hence why he would be in a classroom in the 1950s. Keep making the horror histories, I’m binging it all :)

In the book, there's pictures of both Eisenhower and Nixon in the library in 1958. They were president and vice president respectively from 1953-1961, so that makes sense. Pretty sure that's why Nixon's picture is in the classroom.

It was a mini-series / 2 part movie in the same time period and is sorely under-covered when discussing King's work where it isn't tied to a book. 5:50--There's a "scene" in the book 11-22-63 (which has time-travel in it) where the main character comes into contract with the kids in Derry. The kids tell him there is a killer in the area but that he'd (the main character) be safe cuz the killer only kills kids.
