This was my submission! Really happy you decided to show him off, even if he's not the most powerful doomstack it's possible to build. Technically this is only the second highest possible health on a character - Wulfrik on a Mammoth after getting Burplesmirk Spewpit and with all other bonuses has slightly more health, but he doesn't have as easy access to healing. I tested this battle three times in all and was able to finish it without hitting the regen cap two out of three of them. The AI either throws all of their single entities at you, in which case they're blocked from being able to shoot you much, or they hold the single entities back and you can pretty quickly wipe out the the missile units with magic and melee - the AI doesn't dodge blight boil so one overcast boil and one stream of corruption mostly wipes out any missile infantry. Should have mentioned in the email that since he has 130 WoM reserves and the Chromatic Tome you can safely just spam overcast Rancid Visitations to clear out the single entities much faster and stop characters like Morathi from doing so much damage.

I don’t think legend was right with his assessment (often I don’t trust his judgement 100%). This was a beastly one man force. Lots of health means lots of healing. He had spells up the wazoo, which weren’t used (which other one man’s wont, so use it). Why use a one man doomstack with spells, not use the spells, then compare to a non-spell caster? Silly, would have had army losses well before the health cap. Anyway, good work.

Hm, when I did the calculations, I ended up with Wulfrik ever so slightly below Ku'gath (solely due to the 5% from the tech tree; before those, Wulfrik was actually ahead). What were your calculations for that, if you don't mind telling?

In regards to the A.I. derping when fighting against one man doomstack, I am wondering if, in that particular case, it's because they're looking for hidden units. As in, they assume there is something else than just Kurgath. Or maybe they just wanted to cross that river badly.

Yeah they are looking for hidden units. AI is basically trained to look for more units if they see none or only one or two units.

im pretty sure the ai is coded that way to pretend they don't actually know. but they know. if you only brought 4 units and 4 are visible then they know it's the whole army. they only pretend to not see your hidden units until they are no longer hidden. the battle would be different if he had 19 hidden troops in the forest

it's due to the river crossing, the AI expects your army to be on the other side, directly in front of the "bridge". Even if you remain on your side but using the river as barrier on your flank, the AI will behave oddly because you're not where you're supposed to be

Despite all that melee attack and weapon strength boost his single target damage was woeful, either his attack animations are funky or he is meant to hit like a wet noodle due to him being effectively an artillery piece. Even Aranessa hits harder than that and I'd argue she is the weakest LL in the game (albeit a melee lord unlike Ku'Gath).

I feel like an important detail that makes large single entities much less effective single man doomstacks compared to smaller ones is that they're much much worse at exploiting the damage immunity that being knocked down gives in this game (seeing as they don't really get knocked down)

Yeah you can reduce attacks to 0. Incase of non ap dmg, 200 armor makes you immune to non ap dmg. For ap dmg, 5 ap dmg or less attacks can be reduced to 0 if you have 90 resist vs that attack. 100 shields makes you immune to most ranged attacks. Some abilities make you immune to all dmg when active. High enough melee defence gives you 92% dmg reduction in melee. All of the above effects can stack multiplicatively with each other to make extremely tanky units.

If let's say you have 90% ward save, the rest of 10% damage is reduced by the armour if you have any. With 200 armour it reduces non-ap damage to 0. And if the ap damage is lower than 1 after that, than the game calculates it as 0.

Pretty sure rancid visitations would wreck the single entities. Morathi would depend on what her spell resistance is.

It makes a pretty big difference, on Morathi especially. Also telling him to focus the Kharybdiss in melee one at a time kills them off faster too - his attacks naturally splash to ten targets so I suspect if you just leave him to it his melee damage gets spread around a lot more?

@@666lumberjack melee damage doesn't spread to multiple single entity units, it focuses on just one. Telling him to focus on a unit will just mean he'll try to hit the same unit instead of hitting whichever is the closest (but it's not a guarantee)

Kind of saved by the AI weirdness. As a single entity doomstack, I think he's kind of borked against, say, 10-12 giants. He can't disengage, he can't really do anything other than accept whatever comes his way. Also, magic fire would actually be a fairly significant problem. A handful of Sisters of Avelorn would be potentially problematic. Really cool concept, though.

It woudlent actually. He had 25% fire resist. Which combined with the ward save was about 56% fire resist. On top of the fact he had tons of magic and spells that werent even used once in this showcase.

@@jamesmartin8005I'm not sure 56% resistance is really going to cut it when dodging is out of the question. Do remember that healing rate is halved while on fire, so effectively the healing cap is halved. And Kugath isn't unbreakable. Thus the effective health is essentially 64k with 26k on top from healing, but simply getting down into the last third will probably be enough for leadership issues. How many units of sisters does it take to deal 60k raw damage to Kugath over the course of a battle? Throw in a SoK and it is looking a lot better, obviously. More ward combined with crazy base health equals way more effective healh and unbreakable means there's no shortcut. Simply facetanking the sisters out of ammo is suddenly feasible.

He was able to solo something like 6 giants and five arachnoroks in the battle to get the nemesis crown without even breaking a sweat just by spamming rancid visitations and focusing them down in melee one at a time, and that was obviously before any crown buffs. And he beat a rite of primeval glory army with the tier 1 crown and finished at full health... SEM really aren't that much of a threat to him provided you don't completely afk. Sisters of Avelorn and similar are the most dangerous kind of enemy, but bear in mind he also kills them very quickly with his artillery attack and blight boil and the double mortis once he's in melee - he might struggle with a full stack of them but 5-6 units of sisters are just going to die before they get a dangerous amount of damage on him. You'd also have +20% missile resist from a plague if you knew you were going up against something like that.

Vlad's trait is wounded time reduction. You're thinking of Isabella's trait, which can only be gotten if the Vampire Counts trigger as an end game crisis
