This car is the definition of a haggard 2g and what gives them a bad rep..MAF on the pressure side? Electrical taped connectors..jamming wire into a fuse, and then running a cut through a steering column boot..really?

Early cheaply done stuff. Fortunately for me I learned more and more and modified my previous mods to an old rusty quarter million plus mile car on the tightest budget and second hand pieces and parts to get it to work pretty well. Haggard 2G is better than one forgotten and crushed. Appreciate your observations and remember, everyone starts messing around somewhere. This could have been an old Acura, second gen Wrx, or even an old vw Gti. These old vids up to more current helped some folks and also have made some laugh. I’ll keep sharing regardless because at the end of the day I enjoy my old second gen.

New to the channel 👍 going from oldest to newest. I have a very heavy paper weight that's been sitting in my driveway for about a year now (1998 eclipse GST) has the 4g63 with 150,000 and in pretty good condition. It's been driven only a handful of times In the last 2 years since the head gasket blew. Finally getting back to it then I find this channel 😁

I know it's a few years ago but there are 4 wires from the gauge, where do you wire all 4 or maybe 3 wires to where exactly. I'm kind of lost where to connect the wires.

If your talking boost gauge I use a few locations. Easiest thing to do is take the gauge and wiring to your car battery under the hood. Identify power and ground, and that should be all you need. I tie power to a key on source in the driver side foot well under the dash. Or wire it to the light around the cigarette lighter.

Hi Cody thanks for watching the video! If your driving a 1g or 2g dsm (tsi/gs-t/gsx) turbo 4g63 then you can buy a Maf-Translator online ($150 new for 2g dsm), a 3 inch gm MAF sensor ($45-75 online and in many cars at your local junk yard), one 2 1/4in-2 1/2 inducer 90 degree elbow (Amazon has them $20), some upper intercooler piping ($30), two 2 1/2-3in inducer coupler's to hold the new MAF sensor ($20 on Amazon) and a 1st Gen dsm blow off valve. If you follow my MAF translator install video it will show you exactly how to hook up the 1 wire and plug and set up the translator for stock fuel injectors. If you would like links to all of the items mentioned above or have any other questions email us @ todaysprojectguide@gmail.com

Hey man, I’m upgrading to a 16g turbo, it doesn’t have the vacuum line like the original turbo, where do I connect the line that was on the stock turbo housing?
@TPGDSM3 жыл бұрын
I drilled a hole in my j pipe and put a nipple on it that worked great! You can also drill and tap the compressor outlet and put a threaded 1/8th npt fitting on it
@dinotapia13 жыл бұрын
@@TPGDSM Thanks! I just noticed the J pipe I bought already has the nip. I have another question though: the 16G I’m installing just noticed the oil return line flange seems to be smaller than the one I had, is there a replacement I can find??

I usually use any mounting bolt going into the chassis under the dash. Thanks👍👍

Is this on the stock turbo
@TPGDSM10 ай бұрын
At the time it was on the stock t-25. Now I have a hybrid 20g using turbolabofamerica compressor housing and billet wheel on a 7cm turbine housing.

@TPGDSM9 ай бұрын
@@chrischavez2749 not at first. Stock you can usually go to about 15psi . After that you run out of turbo and fuel. I mean you “could” go a bit further BUT without supporting mods it’s not safe. Make sure you do maintenance before hand. I highly HIGHLY recommend finding Ecmlink v3 with an ecu and a wideband as soon as you want to start messing with things.
