Good video, but pulling the pump fuse is much simpler than pulling the back seat and unplugging the pump.

I had a black canister underneath my tray. Where is yours at? I have a 97 GST.

Any tips on how to remove that second battery tray underneath the first one. My charcoal canister is basically blocking the 1 bolt by the fire wall and I'm not sure how to get it out, thanks

They're 12mm. I used a long and short extension. Take out the first two on the top tray, then once the top platform part is removed you should be able to fit your wrench and extension through the hole in the center of the bracket and remove the bolt from each lower leg of the battery bracket. Lmk if you need more specifics. 🔧👍

@@TPGDSM I'll give it another go. The first bolt I can get with an extention but my issue is the other bolt. My charcoal canister sits right underneath and blocks my access to the other bolt, there is a small slit in the bracket but I'm not seeing how I'll be able to access it. It's a 1997 gst, I'm not sure if the location of the canister is different from other models/years but I'll have to figure it out. Thank you for the replies and the videos you make.

@@Hello-ig9eh you could always try to wiggle the charcoal Cannister side to side and maybe undo a clamp to give yourself more space. Usually the cannisters can be unbolted if need be. Your removing it so may as well give it hell 😂. Could always try a swivel with a wobble head extension if youve got one

What fuel pump hanger will fit the gs spyder 2.4l ?? I tried using other eclipses but it won’t fit

The crush washers so one on top and one at the bottom where it sits on the filter?

Yes. Any banjo bolt needs one on the bottom to wherever it’s being seated and on the head of the bolt side as well

Could random misfire be a reason of a faulty fuel filter?

Possibly. If your not receiving the commanded amount of fuel to the injectors then you would have sporadic misfires on all cylinders. If it's only one cylinder try swapping plug with the one next to it and see if it moves over a cylinder. Try that with the plug, then the plug wire, then the injector. Hope that helps 👍

@@TPGDSM yea the code is p0300 so it could be all four, but not quite sure. I heard a hissing sound coming from the fuel injector and exhaust manifold area but I can’t pinpoint where. Do you have any advice on what I should do? I think I may have a vacuum leak.

Sorry I think I meant the intake manifold, not the exhaust manifold. It’s the area right next to the injectors. That’s the area the hissing sound was coming from

@@ZKrow382 if it's around the intake manifold you should take a look at injector seals. Do you have a boost leak tester?. You can pressurize your system from the compressor housing of your turbo, fill the system with the same amount of pressure you run for boost (10psi boost pressurize your system to 10-12psi) and use soapy water in a squirt bottle to spray EVERYTHING that has air pressure running through it. You'll find some bubbles wherever your leak is. That will be your smoking gun. I'd guess either intake mani gasket or more commonly injector seals.

@@TPGDSM Yea that’s my biggest hypothesis. I was trying to squirt it with soapy water on a running engine but I’m too scared to do so, I think im going to make it worse. I don’t have a boost leak tester, that’s the only problem right now. I don’t know if auto part stores can rent them out to me or not.

Cant seem to break lose the 14 mm nut underneath the the filter, any advice?

Had to do mine while it was bolted into the car. Lots of torque needed

Today's Project Guide mines still bolted on but its impossible to break it lose, did you blast it with wd40 or anything?

@@Everthingpro yes I ended up putting PB blaster on it and using a long breaker bar if I recall correctly. I know that I gave it half hour to do it's work once I sprayed it down thoroughly. It's a pita hope you can crack it loose

I have a power wire that connects to the posotive post of the starter as the other post of the terminal on the starter has a ground already on it .then there is a "clip on " as far as i know that is the wire for the ignition . i read that the starter is supposed to ground itself through contact .atleast for my model .just curious if that would be why im grinding. I didnt show it but i ended up pumping dry gas and 1 gallon of 93 out using a harbor freight drill pump to make sure there wasnt any rust in the lines. Luckily the coffee filter it poured through was clean!
