Would this bypass my a bad fuel pump relay ? I cant find mine at all and considered this method..
@TPGDSM4 жыл бұрын
This is just re wiring the stock pump to supply a constant 12v power source to the fuel pump where stock the voltage fluctuates. Thicker gauge wire and it still utilizes the stock fuel pump relay signal to the secondary relay in the rewire kit. You could try it but if your not receiving the normal signal to the pump to turn it on I'd do some digging to see if a wire is broken or something else is wrong. It may be worth it to try but hard to say if it'd fix your problem.

Do you have to run dsm link with the 750 injectors and the rewire out well it be fine on its own

If you put $750 in your car, you have to run either a maf translator or safc or ecmlink to scale those injectors or you won't be able to start your car

Or the old school way- a custom chip written to an EPROM installed into a socketed single board ECU. Kinda like ECMlink but not fine tunable on the fly in real time. I used those with MMCD logging on a Palm Pilot for years and it worked great

I have a 420a which is not priming the fuel pump. I put a new pump snd relay in and it still won’t kick on, I’m not getting any fuel to the injectors, would a rewire like this help fix the problem? Sorry if I botched the message any help is greatly appreciated the car was running fine. It’ll wanna turn over but it’s not getting any fuel and I believe spark as well
@TPGDSM3 жыл бұрын
if you have no spark and no fuel id bet its either the crank position sensor or cam position sensor. once those stop working the ecu cuts ignition spark and fuel because it doesnt know where the crankshaft is in relation to the piston in its stroke or the cam in its rotation. The ecu needs to see where the crank and cam is in order to inject fuel and ignite it inside the combustion stroke. Try checking out the wiring to each of those sensors and replace if needed. If that doesnt solve your problem i would check for power with a multi meter at the fuel pump harness and work back from there

Stock wire harness gets cut, the wire leading to the harness going back into the car goes to 86, the other end of the wire that got cut going to the fuel pump goes to 87, the positive battery wire with inline fuse goes to 30, chassis ground goes to 85
@TPGDSM3 жыл бұрын
So at the end 5v signal from the ecu goes through 86 and to the pump through 87 which triggers the the relay to pull ground with 85 allowing 12v constant power to come in and power the fuel pump through 30

Does it stay on?
@TPGDSM3 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't stay on. Folks have had an issue from improperly installing the wires to the incorrect pins on the relays. Verify that everything is installed correctly to the correct pins and try again. The OEM fuel pump trigger wire you splice in to the relay signals the pump on with key on, and signals the pump off with key off on the other connecting of the OEM trigger wire. The relay is chassis grounded and 12v hardwired.

how much power can the stock fuel pump handle with a rewire?
@TPGDSM5 жыл бұрын
Each cars a little different but I'd say after a re-wire and some data logging you would be alright going up from 12psi slowly untill you get bad afr's or knock. The other quick fix is a 190lph walboro which can run without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator but ends up being on the rich side. You may want to just throw the afpr and walboro 255 at it like we're going to do over here shortly. The pumps are easily accessible from the back seat and new 255's are only about$100 sometimes less on certain websites.
