It's really interesting to see a Link who doesn't really utilize the bomb too much and yet still plays really well. T really is the best Link in the world

Limited bomb use is good, but no arrow use is not as good. I'd say he's got the link basics down better than anyone, but as far as all around ability for his entire moveset I'd say Vins is one of the up and coming links to watch out for. And definetly can't forget about Izaw, Arrow, and frenchtutor. Regardless it's awesome to see how many different playstyles link can support

I think it just shows how good T/Link is. Not even using bombs much and still doing great. I don’t think it’s fully optimal despite how great T is playing.

I agree, T has never been about playing optimal or technical, he just has crazy fundamentals.

Damage Yeah, even in Smash 4 T was never a traditional type Link. Very CQC and aggressive, less camp and projectile play in general. It’s the same in Smash Ultimate with him, but his fundamentals are so good he gets away with it a lot. Not fully optimal but a super good player nonetheless. His nair and fair game is extremely on point, tho

Um personally I think the way T plays link is the most optimal. I mean especially since he's the only link that does get these good results and plays the way he does. And I can believe it to be the most optimal even after learning some high level bomb tech. Honestly when it comes to high level play, bombs just get in the way to some degree. If you're fighting someone good they'll either: A- react to where the bomb is going or B- knows what the bombs can do and what links typically do with them. And I've noticed even myself that the less bombs I use the better my results have been. Kinda sad but personally I dont think bombs are too useful at high level. Takes too many frames to take out anyways. How T usually uses them tho is to edge guard when the opponent is out of jumps or to force them to jump. Still pretty good but Twitter combo bomb play only works on bad to mid level players. This is just my opinion based on results tho

@@Urushiga I can see why someone would think that, but i'm not necessarily sure that's true. I think T's link play is the best, but I think that's because he's the best at using Link's non-bomb tools the best. (The bomb is not Link's best tool.) But that doesn't mean his play is optimal, it just means that it's better than everyone else's. On one hand T get the best results, on the other hand T uses one less tool. Being campy when it's best to be campy and going cqc when it's best to do that SHOULD be optimal (at least in theory) and for the most part T doesn't do that. So yeah, in my opinion, I think there's kind of a wall to how good you can be if you don't use bomb optimally, but relying on bomb is also bad.

It's safe because it auto cancels and he can immediately go for another, shield, grab. If Link had faster ground moves on start up he'd be pretty broken. It's only weakness is probably lack of range but it's too versatile to not use.

He knows what it's for and in Ultimate Link benefits because his normal fast fall combined with Ultimate blessing jump frames off the ground. It's always been a BNB for Link.
