Hello from sunny Toronto!! Waiting in line for a restaurant...SO COMMON here! Last weekend I waited 30 mins for a patio table at a brewery. You give the hostess your number and the restaurant calls when your table is ready. Must be a big city thing. Love from 🇨🇦. Stay safe

Hello! Half English, half South Korean girl here and I'm so happy to have found your channel recently. I don't speak Korean (but I'm trying to learn) and have only been to South Korea 3 times to visit family (the last time in 2009). I like to watch you guys to see what life is like over there and to become more in touch with my Korean side. You're such a lovely couple and I love your deep, quiet energy. Sending love and good wishes from me and my 3 rescue cats in London, England.

Everything looks so clean and pretty there. I can’t venture out anywhere in my city without stumbling across litter and garbage or dog crap. 😕 Seoul Forest looks beautiful. Long lines outside restaurants are common around here in the trendy areas. I avoid them like the plague. As for Beemo, I hope his meds adjustments help him feel better. Poor lil guy. From Vancouver, there are always lines at popular restaurants. When people see a line, they think this place must be really good and want to know what's the hype. I wouldn't line up during work lunch hour. Only for dinner and weekends. I think people who laugh about it are people who don't care what they eat and not a big foodie.

Hiii Sarah! Hiii Kyuho! Awwwwww Beemo! He’s such a love bucket. I hope he was able to pass the gas bubbles that showed up on his x-ray. I’m so glad that his meds are helping. Oh my gosh! Your weather in Korea is no joke! It’s crazy how it changes from day-to-day. I’ve never even heard of yellow dust before. I loved the mini Q&A that Kyuho did on the restaurant line. We have been known to wait upwards of 2 hours for a table here in Los Angeles. Sarah, while you were answering, I was noticing your sunglasses. They’re perfect for you, AND you totally looked like a model. You can rock any pair of sunglasses! You my sister, belong in magazine ads!! Thanks for sharing your very productive and fun day with us. Midoin looked amazing. I loved their tableware! Sarah and Kyuho, would you ever do a short video on Korean language? I’m only asking, because when you stepped into the van for Beemo’s appt, you (Sarah), greeted the driver. I live in a community filled with Korean restaurants, and visit often. I would love to greet my favorite waitstaff-who speak only Korean-in a respectful manner, as they are older than I am. The only thing I say after my meal is ‘mashisoyo.’ 😊 My dry cleaner is Korean as well…..I would love a lesson on proper pronunciation, for everyday greetings-good morning, good afternoon, good evening, thank you, etc….. 😊

I won't wait or queue outside a restaurant (even if michelin) if I'm told the waiting time is over 30mins. I eat to live rather than live to eat, so it's not something that's very important to me so long the food is not horrible. However for food kiosk if I know that they clear the queue fast (from experience patronising that stall) even if the line is a little bit longer, I might join. Generally I don't believe in waiting in a long queue for anything if it's not something that's very important to me.

Awesome, my weekly Seoul fix (until I can find a way of living there for the rest of my days..😊) Been to 40 countries, luckily left Korea to last because its, IMO, the best in terms of food/life/climate...still researching how to (Visa wise) run a 'discussion cafe' and earn enough. Also asking Koreans in Ireland WHY they like Ireland over Korea ('friendlier people/less stressful life....') Hope my dream comes true...💚💚

Yeah I don't think it's culture shock, more so a personal preference! In a lot of larger cities in Canada (Toronto, Vancouver, etc.) you'll see lines for popular restaurants (especially if they don't take reservations) - if it's well known that the food is good and the wait time is < 30mins, I'll wait 😊

Korea is famous for its ‘hurry hurry’ culture (it’s a legit expression here, lol). Funny enough, this phenomenon is suddenly non-existent when it comes to waiting in lines for things-often for hours at a time ;) The contrast still baffles me.

The lineup thing isn’t just a Korean culture, it’s in fact Asian culture, you’d probably see this in many Asian countries or even Asian neighbourhoods in North America. I live in Toronto and it’s not uncommon to see lineups at asian restaurants. I think another reason is that reservation isn’t as popular in asian culture as opposed in western. They have this mentality of “first come first serve” and although I can’t say for all Asian cultures, some restaurant owners like to have lineups so it creates a thinking that their restaurant is good and have many people, and that usually attracts even more people to go. Normal human thinking is that “wow, there’s a line up, it must be good” and that makes them not minding to wait long to just eat there. There are many restaurants in Hong Kong/Singapore/Taiwan that you lineup for 1 hr but only take you 10min to eat and they will give you the receipt right away so they can serve more people. But I am like Sarah, I wouldn’t lineup unless it’s under 15min. It’s not like I’d die by not eating at or trying out that restaurant, LOL.

Random question for anyone else who lives in Korea. Why do most Italian restaurants in Korea not have lasagna?! Even many Korean ppl I've met have never tried it, and some haven't even heard of it. It's shocking to me as I feel like that's one of the most popular Italian dishes

I feel like the only way the long line wait for a while works during the work week is just taking a long lunch. Guess it depends on the company and how lax they are about stuff like that. Cause if not, yeah Sarah, you'd probably end up just having to take it to go or just wolf it and run. I'm the same way. Sure there are a million places on Yelp with these high ratings and people saying it's worth the wait, but at the end of the day, after a certain point, food is going to be good enough from another place where you don't have to wait forever. Not worth it to spend that much of your day wasting time just for a meal.

We simply have zero interest in being parents. And you’re right, with Beemo, we kind of do have a kid in a way-and with him, we realized a cat is our absolute limit. We’ve spent over $10,000 on his health condition over the last year or so and its been a roller coster of stress. So an actual human child that requires a lotttt more care, responsibility, money, and a larger space we can’t afford? Noooo thank you 😬
