GUYS, before you get to far ahead mounting your mid plate on the Civic. Check your SFI rule book! I believe the mid motor mount cannot directly attach to the dash bar,in the event of the engine exiting the vehicle in a crash and taking the dash bar with it. The work around is a tube that goes around the bellhousing which is tied with diagonals to the dash bar/A-pillar intersection. Then tubes can be run to the dash bar from this hoop around the bellhousing. This is what I did on my 25-2 chassis and I see similar designs on pro built cars. This car is awesome by the way.

The best place to mount the turbo would be in the nose to help it stay on the ground, and you could use an e-gate in the charging pipe so it will behave like a procharger and spool really quick.

I'm not hugely familiar with drag cars like this, is 2400lbs light for a drag car built like that? For example I know plenty of circuit raced Civics weighing under 2000lbs in full trim with the driver, and those are full chassis cars just with a lot of weight reduction, my stock Civic is 2400lbs with me in it and next to no weight reduction

This is a very cool project. I did not realize that you both go back to the early days. It is incredible to see how far you have come from the early days with Ebay turbos on clapped out Hondas. It was cool to see you as the kid at PFI learning the ropes, but developing the KZbin presence with Boosted Boiz. I remember the first time Cleetus called you out at a drag strip and you were sooo impressed that Cleetus knew who you were. Very cool that you now hang with the crowd and are doing cool stuff like this build.

The front mount needs another piece from the tube up to the motor plate. It should be a triangle to handle the torque. I'm afraid the welds on the mount plate will shear. Those weld are not in compression or tension. Should be on or the other. Good luck guys, I love the fabrication vids! Keep it up! edit: mid plate looks fine. It's very close to the CL of the trans shaft. If you can put in a gusset to "triangulate" that mount, it wouldn't hurt.

Also if your hard mounting the mid plate, I'd rubber mount the back of the box. Otherwise, you may end up cracking extension housings.

Woah..wait!!! That set of drop bars from the firewall down to frame for the rear block/trans brace needs a cross bar in the middle above trans to help eliminate torque twist bend in those verticle bars....
