I grew up in Missoula and Frenchtown (you passed it west of Missoula). Oh man there is so much History of Missoula I could tell you and the personal stories too. Currently I reside in Butte, MT and there is some cool history here too if you know where to look. But, I do miss the Missoula County Area so Beautiful this time of year.

I very vividly recall this stretch of highway in the 90s. I would be driving from 70 mph to 130 mph on this stretch which could handle these speeds. Keep in mind those of us who learned how to drive in Germany kept to the rules of Rechtsfarhrgebot in Montana. Respect for those passing at lower speeds, then allow them to move over so we could pass, and not tail gate, at least 8 seconds of signaling a lane change, looking deep so you don't cut someone off traveling at a higher speed. It can still work, if properly trained and enforced. It is maneuvering that causes most accidents, not speed.

Some very nice scenery there. Good one as usual, and no doubt you were glad to get out of that construction zone! Didn't notice any lawmen working the I-90: did you see that many? Keep up the good work!

Very scenic drive indeed. It also looks like MDT is putting in work on the Westbound lanes of I-90. Hopefully, I-90 is as scenic in Idaho as it is in Montana.
