I grew up as an only child. We lived out in the country and I was very shy. My Mom used to tell me "keep your head up and rise above it, baby!" She was the best! People can be so rude. I love how the last blue gouache you added, looked when it dried! It was wowzer when you first laid it down but, I love it with the olive green! You’re so right about manners! A few days ago I asked a question in a fb group how I could tell if the Arteza gouache I had was watercolor and acrylic. Comments were downright rude, people who thought I was “new” to paint or just an idiot. Turns out NONE of them knew both forms exist. From Google: “Acrylic gouache is a unique form of traditional gouache. Also called acryla gouache, the paint is opaque to provide more coverage. But the addition of an acrylic binder turns it from water-soluble to waterproof. This is the feature that attracts artists who love to layer and use vivid colors in their artwork.” I left that group, no one needs that nastiness and negativity.

Wonderful! The moss green with the blue apatite, marriage made in heaven 😍. Two of my favourite colours that work in harmony together (in my humble opinion 😉😄). It is so interesting how we all respond so differently to art. My biggest take home from watching your videos is to play and have fun with the different mediums and experiment. Abstract art is a lot harder than it looks and with all art, something that develops over time with practice. Thank you for sharing your work and teaching us to let go and play, even if we don’t like what either you or we have created, the most important thing is we created something. I actually like the blue. I think it looks beautiful with that green. Your art is beautiful and I would either ignore the trolls, or you could be very nice to them and annoy them more. I have an expression “beauty is skin deep, but ugly is to the bone”. You can’t make ugly beautiful, because they will never change their attitude. They’re just sad and unhappy people that want everyone else to be sad and unhappy. I’m 66 and I have never seen so much hate in the world as I have the past few years. Must be something in the water 😂.

Love both those pieces! I am so sorry that the haters rear their rude heads. It's easy to say ignore them, but so very difficult to do. The funny thing is that every time they make a rude comment, they boost your interaction numbers. I remember hearing of one content creator who had issues with them, and would just comment back something along the lines of "have a blessed day", which increased the interaction numbers. Talk about turning the tables! haha...At any rate, you are right, so many people have lost the ability to be civil, especially when it comes to social media.

I have male peacocks and their colors are very bright and beautiful and striking! I hope you keep going with the bright colors!! Love this! Funny, I picked a palette color from my Color Cube and this is the one that I picked out yesterday. I've picked my DS colors and gouache and just needed a little bit more inspiration...this video is perfect for my daily art relax and unwind time! Yes, people have become more rude, no manners. I don't think they realize that it reflects back to the people that raised them. Makes their family look bad, shame on them. Loved today’s colors and application. Re; your comment about comments, sometimes you will put something down and I think - oh no, why did she put that down ,and then lo and behold you keep going and it’s great. But even if it wasn’t who cares. We are playing. I am a full time artist and do a lot if commissioned work but I do this with you for sheer fun and beauty and relaxation. And have a whole new outlook on watercolor which I never even liked before and now I love it. Love love seeing all the new and different art tools you use too. By the way a brush you might really have fun with that I got just recently is the Rosemary Evergreen Egbert. I have it in a 2 and I think in a 6. It’s very different. I don’t know whether it will work well with water color or not but I know it works well with acrylic and gouache

I saw the preview for this video on Instagram and was so looking forward to watching the video this evening. Since childhood, green and blue has been one of my very favorite combinations. I had to chuckle when you got to the point in the process where you thought you had made a big mistake in your choice of colors, because I had seen the sneak peek of the finished pieces on Instagram and knew that the final pieces turned out beautifully! I loved this and now I think I need to buy some gouache, though I'm wondering if you had taken a wet brush to the green and blue from the Derwent XL Graphite block if you might not have achieved a similar level of opacity. I have Daniel Smiths's Sleeping Beauty and was looking forward to seeing you use it-so, was a little disappointed that you didn't play around a bit more with what that would add to the pieces. I loved this color palette and your beautiful pieces inspired me to try those colors on my next project.

I love this result. Do you use the dark blue? I didn’t see it. I had already rewound it so much to catch other things. I really love the pastel marks you make. I’m trying to practice them. Yours are cool - they remind me of EKG heart marks ! Regarding online rude remarks, I heard the Posh Paper Lady on YT speak about those remarks like this: “Read, Delete, Block”. I love that.

Do you always scribble with your black pencil to "loosen" up or have you ever done it with one of your pastel crayons? I can't remember if you have ever done so. 🙂

I use those too… I think I recently posted in an art haul why you haven’t seen the pastels come out much. They were inconvenient to get to, and now I’ve got them in a tin easier to get to. 😊
