one month later the album came out and they became the band of a generation

I feel like people always mention Oasis instead of Radiohead, and it always makes me laugh. The two are night and day in comparison when it comes to the quality of their work.

billweir1745 I know right!? Oasis absolutely blow them out the water! A 2006 Liam Gallagher still sings more in key than this man

@@billweir1745 Why always the stupid infighting? Can't we agree that both were great in their own way and prove that in the 90s fabulous music still achieved greater popularity than it does now? (yes, the charts were always dominated by shit, but Oasis and Radiohead were still "big" by today's standards). I guess when it comes to "musical complexity" and maybe even originality, Radiohead is ahead of Oasis, sure. BUT, Oasis were the absolute kings when it came to creating catchy and positive anthems as a balance to the problems that every day life throws at you. There was nothing better to boost the mood than blasting one of their songs, a kind of "romantic realism" if you will, the basic idea: "sure, life is hard, but there's beauty daily". Coming from the North, they also brought a different, Northern working-class culture to the table. So, both are great in their own way to be honest. And let's not forget that both were fantastic live bands. Oasis especially sounded much better live than on their records.

Thom is so attractive. The way he expresses himself, feels the music...
@Amber_xo_1333 ай бұрын
This song is about the passage of time, and the realization that everything is effected by death. If you listen to the rhythm, it sounds like a ticking clock. Also the steady rhythm could represent a heartbeat, and symbolize how much time a person has left. The whole song seems hopeless at first, like death always happens and there is nothing we can do to change it, but it has the best redeeming quality at the end when Thom says “Immerse your soul in love”. Basically he’s saying that life is too short to live in hate, and that we need to make the most of each moment by loving each other.
