To non guitar players, they may not appreciate how hard it is to perform an intricate picking melody the entire length of the song while simultaneously singing in a vocal line that allows for almost no breaks and really long breath holds. Thom makes it look like the easiest thing in the world.

My son learned this first thing he taught himself to play guitar at 11. He’s very talented and loves Radiohead decades after I did. We had frequent electricity blackouts in that neighbourhood and he would bring his acoustic down and play this for his younger siblings ( and me) while they held light sticks in the dark I love this song anyway but it’s extra special for the memories

I've always liked the deep and dark uniqueness of Radiohead since I was a kid. I'm almost 38 now and just discovering some of their songs that passed me by for so long and I'm on this unbelievable journey inside my mind and heart that's all my own. Actually the picking pattern is not hard to pick up. As a guitarist who has only been playing for a couple months I picked up this song today and got the picking pattern down easily. The somewhat hard part is when the picking pattern changes ever so slightly when you change to a different chord. Beautiful song though
